I wonder if he’ll wear a dress.

A good sign that the students, also, are seeing the effects of liberalism/socialism?

It could have been worse; they could have chosen Snooki.

I know Rudy isn’t a true conservative, but he is an excellent choice for a commencement speaker. Very motivating and inspiring story.

So they’ll pick one token R and then go back to liberal wackos for the next 25 years.

If this is Ed’s metric for measuring the progress of conservatism, he’s desperate.

Maybe things will be looking up in Ithaca after all these years. Sure hope so for you and thousands of others who deplore what’s happened there. Any selection for the speaker yet at Ithaca College graduation? Wouldn’t that be a hoot if a conservative were also picked for that?

Never say never!

At least they picked somebody with a college degree this time. Our oldest graduated there two years ago and the speaker was David Plouffe, who has no degree. My kid is pretty non-political and she, along with many of her fellow grads, thought it was kind of insulting that that guy was chosen.

Giuliani Picked as First Republican Cornell Commencement Speaker

RINO, through and through; but, hey, gotta start somewhere!

The headline writer here is obviously mistaken. Giuliani, in all likelihood, is not the first Republican to be the guest speaker at a Cornell commencement, just the first in quite a number of years.

Cornell goes back to the nineteenth century and its vicinity, rural and small-town upstate New York, had been traditionally Republican from the Civil War until recent decades. Furthermore, college campuses in general and Ivy League campuses in particular were not particularly dominated by leftists until the Vietnam era.

Musically

There she stands, Cornell

That smell is not Cayuga's waters

That smell is Cornell"
