Donald Trump's tallest construction project ever is facing some tall challenges.
Many real-estate developers are under pressure these days as lenders and investors rush to cut their exposure to the market. But Mr. Trump's 92-story Trump International Hotel & Tower in Chicago, which will be the tallest building constructed in the U.S. since the Sears Tower opened in 1973, may be especially vulnerable because it's getting hit by a triple whammy of colliding forces: the credit crunch, the reversal in the housing market and weak retail sales.
The shiny glass skyscraper is one of the few that the brash Mr. Trump developed without partners. The situation also puts pressure on one of the project's major lenders, Fortress Investment Group LLC.

Someone called CSPAN this weekend and reminded me (viewers) how Trump did an act on WWF where he had a fake show feud with bad guy Vince McMahon(WWF/WWE). It ended up with McMahon getting shaved.
Donald Trump Slaps Vince McMahon: WWE match heats up, Mar 28, 2007
Now is he having a similar fake feud with Obama?
The more I see ‘conservatives’ ?? get ga-ga over showman like Trump as president (to fill the vacuum)the more convinced I am that Obama will be re-elected. Trump is just a rich corporatist/liberal who doesn't want Obama to raise his taxes.
Yes but the worst part is the media want him dissed and Romney primped up.
I thought Bob Dole was lame...Gerry Ford too....McCain was as bad a candidate as Gore and Kerry were.
Ha, that’s exactly what this is like between Trump and O. A WWE “match”!
I've not only read this old article but everything I could on Google, including the long Wiki piece. And every Architectural article that popped up. Trump took out a lot of loans for this, but no Soros anywhere I can see?
Where his Tower stands, is what used to my old stomping grounds in the mid 70's & 80's. Handled a lot of Hi-Rise Projects in that area, and hit most of the Gin Mills for 'lunch' ;-)
I think the lesson that the GOP needs to take to heart...if they want to actually be in the running in 2012 they better drop the establishment approach that has ultimately led them to this current state of affairs.
The GOP needs a strong non-establishment player that wouldn’t careless if they didn’t get re-elected...the candidate should only care about making the tough decisions to save our country.
People like West, Bachmann, etc... and not the dweebs like Romney, Boehner, etc...
Trump: Forget Soros. Leave him alone, hes got enough problems. Lets talk about somebody else.
Go to 6:10 on the video to see him say that:

Well, with Trump, money talks and walks - that has been his business. We know; unlike Obama; Soros does not write his speeches. Yet. . .anyway.
Finding out here at FR that The Donald has ties to George Soros is a deal breaker for me. Glenn Beck may be a drama queen many times but he knew about George Soros. On the other hand, everything trying to help Terri Schiavo knew about George Soros way back in 2003.
If we are reading the same info the chain of money Trump used is this. Trump gets investor money from a trio led by Fortress Investment Group (FIG) LLC. FIG in turn has a key member/participant named Grove Capital. Grove Capital in turn”....manages most of the multibillion-dollar real estate portfolio of the $13 billion Soros Fund Management, from which Grove Capital was spun off ...”. October 28, 2004 Chicago Tribune. Trump is tainted with Soros money and Soros uses his money for political purposes. Perhaps Trump was not aware of Soros’s filthy/ political money but I would be very surprised if Soros did not know that he had the chance to tie up Trump. Unless Trump can extricate himself from this connection with conviction it is not unreasonable to expect Soros and his international coherts/bankers have the same plans for Trump that they used for Obama only this time using bait and switch as to partys. This makes me very disheartened to read Lt. Col. West saying he would be glad to serve as VPOTUSA under Trump. I’m waiting to hear if Cain is on the Trump bandwagon.

Uhhh YOUR LINK DOES NOT WORK..
The Chicago Trib article you refer to is incorrect as to Grove City, which dramatically alters the conclusion. Grove City was founded in SF in 1998, not “spun off weeks before” the 2004 Chicago groundbreaking, blah blah blah in the story. There is NO record of any Soros connection to Grove City, its founders or partners.
It is not an impossibility that at some time the companies and their principles were simultaneously engaged in some deal or other. It’s like that in the world of big money. But that is not the connection that is sought to be made here.
Soros must own RUSH as well.
In 2004, the Chicago Tribune gave the article about Grove Capital, not Grove City, at that time i.e.2004. The article noted before giving the corporate lines explicitly about Soros investing in Trumps skyscraper. I believe the Tribune article needs to be factually disputed before throwing it out. Apparently there was a lot of corporate manipulation going on between 1998 and 2004 if your Grove City is the predecessor to Grove Capital LLP, not unusual in the world of finance.Your response tweaks my interest even more. Recall it was Bush1 that opened the door with his comment about a’new world order’ coming. Bush1 was a Republican. Then the USA went to Clinton who was connected to the international scene through the Rockefellers. Clinton was a Democrat. Then the USA was was taken further into international politics by Bush2. Bush 2 was a Republican. Then the USDA was taken further into change with Obama. Obama is a Democrat with eligibility questions. This making the USA a political party ping-pong ball for change to a new world order is very, very strange. I’ll not disparage anyone who wants to believe Trump might be the next ball bounce.
“BTW, was there any Soros-Perot connection in the 1992 and 1996 races?”
Blog idea.....
I’m sorry, that must have been a senior moment. Was not referring to “Grove City,” as in the college and its famous law suit, but to Grove Capital. I believe I gave you the link.
The 2 Grove Capital founding partners backgrounds don’t seem to include any entity known to be owned/controlled by Soros.

I’m not an investigator, so you can pursue those links and any other that may come up and further tweak your interest. I just prefer to see conservatives post accurate information and this thread is an epic failure on that.
I am willing to let the public read the article dated Oct28,2004 in the Chicago Tribune and make a decision if Soros was or was not involved in investing in Trumps building. I have links from other sources so thanks just the same. If the Tribune review was off base you should take it up with the Tribune to clear what was written. If you get a retraction of any sort let me know as well as others on FR.

I found an article that links Soros to Fortress Investment Group LLC Grove Capital LLP. I think you Googled the wrong name.
