CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Senator graham wants to raise the age to receive social security benefits from 65 to 70 by the year 2032 in hopes it will save the country trillions of dollars.
With the nation in a financial crisis, several conservative republican senators have a plan that would keep working American working longer.
"There is no way in God's green earth to save America from bankruptcy until you deal with entitlements, social security, Medicare and Medicaid, combined in the next 20 years is going to absorb every dollar of revenue coming to this place. There won't be any money left for anything else," Senator Lindsey Graham.

Typical spineless politicians...instead of slaying the beast that is Socialist Insecurity, they give it another shot of bling from the financial arteries of ordinary Americans.
Oh, and for the record: taxing Americans and then refusing to pay them their benefits...that's called a tax hike, Lindsey.
I notice Linda Graham says not a word about the millions of freeloaders collecting SSDI payments for their mental condition of lazyness and non-accomplisment. Why not cut them off first instead of penalizing those who paid into the system over a life time?
Hey Grahamnesty, you could start by sending 40 million parasites that have come here illegally back to their countries of origin!!!
If the rule is just for bureaucrats and elected officials, I’m all for it!!
By 2032? What will the average life expectancy be by then? Oh, probably not so high, because we’ll already be bankrupt and living in 3rd world squalor. Nice plan, though.

Uber RINO Lindsey Ping
"Republican by day, Democrat by night."
Want on or off this ping list?
Just FReepmail me.
Privatize social security for everyone under 48 years of age.
Chile did it - and it was very successful, or so I’ve read.
won’t affect us, we’re well past 70!
There’s no other way to give the top 1% their tax breaks and how else will fiscally resposible multinationals ship jobs overseas. Yeah Republicans.
Someone should tell Lucy that it is currently 66.
It’s my opinion that a system could be set up where people save money from their earliest earning days. This fund would build until it became $10,000, then $50, then nearly $1 million.
What would be nice, would be the ability for people to self-insure for all but the most costly misfortunes against them.
People could save a ton of money not having to pay for auto insurance, household insurance, health insurance...
You’d have a comprehensive policy with a $25k deductable, which you’d almost never need, and would cost very little.
There are creative ways to do away with S. S., Medicare, and a myriad of other programs, if only our government would get off it’s ass and get creative.
Yeah, go ahead Miss Lindsey, and screw regular Americans. I will do everything in my power to see to it that you are defeated by ANYBODY.
Meanwhile...
CONFIRMED: One in 19 Americans today get SSDI or SSI. That's one in 19 Americans who are "disabled."
-—get mad at those who lied to you and made bad promises that can’t be kept -— not at those who are trying to fix the problem!
BINGO
and go after the rampant fraud.
is he trying to lose us the election?
This jerk gets worse by the day
The top 1% had their taxes raised from 26% to 31 then to 39 back to 33. Overall that is a tax hike to subsidize freeloaders
You mean the top 1% who pay 50%+ of all income taxes confiscated by the scumbag government?
Is that who you mean?
Exactly! Unless you are so sick you can’t sit for 20 mintues you should not be recieving disabilty. There are plenty of people out here who work everyday and deal with whatever it is they have and do not expect the government to care for them.
Hey linda graham, if we already have too many unemployed, i.e., too large a labor force for how many jobs there are, then you’re making it worse by having people retire LATER.
what a maroon.
just have a sliding-scale phase out, that would honor promises made to those close to retirement, and phase it out for those not so near.
And then never have a gov’t retirement system again so we won’t have so much of the populations lulled into counting on it.
Heh, I noticed your tagline...
Please tell me you’re not one of those morons who thinks a piece of paper filed in Delaware pays taxes.
