“...All kidding aside, I can’t think of a more pathetic example of the depths the GOP has sunk to than Lindsy...”

Well, I think it comes from trying to be all things to all people, actually.

A person (or party) that tries to be all things to all people is ultimately nothing to anyone. You either have solid-rock principles to stand upon, or you’re sand.

The GOP tried the “big tent” method - bringing in disaffected Liberals and kinda-sorta-conservatives and grudgingly “allowed” us - the real conservative backbone - to tag along, as long as we don’t make too much noise and promise to line up and vote for whatever “R” candidate they force on us (i.e., McCain/Romney/Guiliani [insert RINO du jour here]).

They’re not really all that different from the Rats at the end of the day - that’s why they HAAAAAAAAAAAAATE the Tea Party. We’re the real effing deal, and we’re forcing the “Good Ol’ Boy” network to put up or shut up.

We either take back that party, and along with it, our Country, or we go down the tubes and wind up in the history book as just another failed experiment - another group of upstart, stupid peasants who thought they could escape, with the modern version of our Liberal Fuedal Gestapo Lords laughing at us and pissing on our graves. That’s where it stands right now.

And we need to use ANY and ALL Constitutional means necessary to do so.

Like Barry Goldwater said a long long time ago: “Extremism in the Defense of liberty is no vice, and moderation in the pursuit of justice is NOT a virtue.”

Couldn’t agree more.

Back around 97-2001 I did a lot of writing/work in the 4x4/land use world. One would ‘think’ that you couldn’t find a more ‘conservative’ group outside of the Reagan Library. One would be very wrong.

So many were willing to ‘compromise’ with the Sierra Club and other ECO groups it was scary. You couldn’t make them understand simple concepts like “If you give up half your given riding area today, they will just come back in a year and demand another half, over and over.”

Of course, the result is that 10 years later, most of the areas are shut down and the same people still want to compromise.

Any person calling himself a conservative NEEDS to buy a copy of Sun Tzu’s Art of War and “The 48 Laws of Power” by Robert Greene and study them.

THAT is how we win.
