Washington (CNSNews.com) - Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.), joined by several other House Democrats, re-introduced on Thursday the Uniting American Families Act, which would permit homosexual and lesbian American citizens to sponsor their partners for legal residency in the United States, saying the status-quo is humanly cruel.
The New York congressman, who is leading the push for passing the legislation, said there are more than 100 Democrat co-sponsors of the bill, including House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
He also said that a similar bill is being introduced in the Senate by Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.).
The prospects of the bill passing are dim because it has no support from Republican members in the GOP-controlled House, although Rep. Nadler, without mentioning any names, alleged that some Republicans are considering supporting the legislation.
Today, thousands of committed same-sex couples are needlessly suffering because of unequal treatment under our immigration laws and this is an outrage, Nadler told reporters at a press conference on Capitol Hill on Thursday.
Nadler went on to say that it is a gratuitous cruelty that only homosexual Americans who fall in love with a foreign national must choose between their partner and their country. In turn, he added, heterosexual Americans are able to expeditiously sponsor their partners immigration to the United States.
A homosexual or lesbian foreign national partner can only stay in the United States for a brief period, said Rep. Nadler, adding, This is cruel. Its humanly cruel. Its a gratuitous cruelty by American law against the couple for no reason whatsoever.
Its not only the partners in committed relationship who suffer, said Nadler. Their children, their extended families, their communities and employers are all hurt when families are broken up. So, therefore, I am proud to say that we are introducing the Uniting American Families Act today with nearly 100 co-sponsors.
The bill would allow homosexual and lesbian couples to sponsor their foreign national partners legal immigration to the United States on the same basis as anyone else, said Nadler, adding that the same limitations, [and] the same penalties for fraud would apply.
Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.), a leading proponent of immigration reform and a sponsor of Nadlers legislation, said the Uniting American Families Act should be part of efforts to fix the broken U.S. immigration system.
The Defense of Marriage Act, or DOMA, prohibits the federal government from recognizing same-sex marriage. However, the Obama administration has decided not to defend the constitutionality of that federal statue.
All liberal DemocRATs. While America is looking more like Greece, these dopes pass bills to give perverts illegal trespassers more rights and even entitlements. It will not stop there until our American heritage, history, culture and values systems are all denounced by the Left.
They love to deal with ...issues which challenge tolerance, or fairplay or some other type of guilt feeling. Libs love the feelings bit of legislation but rarely look at facts on the energy policies, wars, borders, tax and spending. Much better to shore up the perverse voting blocs.
Obama and his sickening sycophants ignore the law at will and we hear not a peep from the MSM...
There may be truth to those tales of Obama and his male lover in the back seat of a Limo. Obama and his henchmen are all out for the sin of Homosexuality, they sponsor it and that is a sickness of the Demon Mentality, as they have shown a lot of lately, especially Obama!
You can cerainly tell these people have never accepted God or Jesus in their lives, especially this worthless Obama!
Little zeros to come near you and parasite America. The plague of locust is going to come. This is going to bring disease.
"That's humanly cruel! Or do I mean inhumanly cruel! Well, whatever!"
“It will not stop there until our American heritage, history, culture and values systems are all denounced by the Left.”
Then it should have ended by now, because the left have been denouncing all of them for decades.
This law will never pass our House.

Sorry, He's still not a NBC, no matter whut citizenship status Moe gives him!
Democrats love everything that tears apart America and trashes our culture, heritage, traditions, religion, ethics and morality.
Ping!
Either they’re trying to import voters or they’re trying to destroy America.
Or Both!
This is sick.

The R majority better not pass this disgusting thing. As if there aren't enough sex perverts in the US already. I know I pinged out another article about this, but people need to know what the thug slimeball sickos in DC are up to. The country has to be turned around.
Now they even want us to outsource fruits.
The one thing we do have in common with the Greeks, and moreso with the Romans is the fact that we ultimately screwed our economy over with outsourced labor. Romans outsourced labor, especially military, to mercernaries as opposed to other Romans.
As far as homosexual issues go, we have pretty much gone worse than the Romans or Greeks, I haven’t known either of those cultures to classify people entirely by just their sexual behaviors.
As far as this law goes, it is beneath contempt. If I wished for my wife or girlfriend, or fiancé to get residence with me, we still have to get through these regular challenges. And yet these people still make a fuss over the whole blinkin’ process that one has to go through. There are fewer people who honestly I have heard whine or kick and scream like some spoiled kid than this group, is disturbing how some of them need to seriously just grow up to some extent.
Prime example, as if we needed another, of “old demonrat bills never die”
