And Bush and Rove also gave us Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and the biggest Dim majorities in Congress they'd enjoyed for several decades.
Bush spent his second term insulting the conservative base with Harriet Meirs and his two big amnesty pushes in 2006 and 2007. The Republican party went from one of its strongest positions ever after the election of 2004 to one of its weakest positions ever after the election of 2008. - And W was definitely horrible at defending himself and his foreign policies.
Lots of convenient memory lapses on this thread by those who want to trash Trump.
Yes, and although we got, I think, two solid Supreme Court justices (once the Miers’ nomination got scotched) and a reinstitution of the Mexico City policy, there were lots of negatives too. It was not just the last two years. No Child Left Behind, the federalizing of airport security (thanks for TSA, Dubya!), the creation of Homeland Defense, his blind loyalty to Muller at FBI & the CIA director (can’t remember the name)...objecting to these policies is not the result of “BDS.” Bush’s admin often gave the impression Liberalism and worse, of general bungling. Not on the scale of the Kenyan, but it was bad sometimes. Oh, did I forget to mention holding elections in Muslim countries, 80% of whose electorates yearn for Sharia law? Brilliant move, Condi Rice & Co. The Christians get it in the neck, and the extremists have a better shot at the Caliphate.
Agree with every word.
