Federal wildlife officials say they will take more than 1,300 gray wolves in the Northern Rockies off the endangered species list within 60 days.

It marks the first time Congress has taken a species off the endangered list.

Idaho and Montana plan public wolf hunts this fall. Hunts last year were canceled after a judge ruled the predators remained at risk.

I thought of posting this earlier but was wondering if it was appropriate.

It's a discussion on managing the environment delivered some years back. It's a little lengthy, an hour and a half or so, but skip forward to 0:39 for a good analysis of what the clusterf*** and mismanagement the federal gov't had created in Yellowstone Park with good intentions.

Note that I do not endorse the protection of wolves (or coyotes or cougars or bears) at this time, populations have increased and overflowed into ranch lands and populated areas threatening livestock and in some cases humans. The point is the sheer stupidity of trying to micromanage a complex system by governmental regulatory institutions pressured by know nothing environmentalists and do gooders.

This doesn't end with the problems that are happening with predators in the west, it's also happening with the over population of white tail deer in the east where hunting is highly restricted in areas and gun ownership is threatened. When I was a kid in upstate NY, we would just shoot a deer that was munching away at our vegetable garden and call it supper. Woodchucks, raccoons and wild dog packs were fair game and farmers would pay a bounty for tails. Coyotes were none existent then, now they're abundant...and the farmers are extinct.

Some things don't mix well, like sharks and swimmers, like sodium and water, like our current government and reality.

Another piece of this mess is the UN Agenda 21 and the rewilding of America efforts.

Many red ecos want to remove the ranchers and farmers from their homesteads. Killing the livestock helps their agenda as the family ranchers then have a cash flow / bank loan problem that can lead to foreclosures.

Getting historical federal grazing allotments vacated is another trick to bankrupt the family ranchers.

I am very familiar with BLM conflict vs Nevada ranchers, Wayne Hage and Ben Colvin.

I think many people get evolution mixed up with adaptation.

Many farmers and landowners have practiced the 3S kind of solution for the government protected species: “shoot, shovel, shut-up.”

Onezies and twozies no big deal, but a full pack? Without a fully automatic weapon and a BIG magazine, that is a very risky plan.

I have no problem with wolves....if they want to wander into the states, let them...

Another armchair urban expert.

If a disaster the size of a New Madrid quake renders your city and dozens like it an uninhabitable hell hole, where will you run? In what kind of condition will the land be in terms of its ability to support you? How will you sleep safely? From what would you construct shelter? Will there be any game? Will the forage be edible?

Or are you expecting FEMA to save you? Good luck with that. Wolves are not a good idea, which is why the paleo-indians killed every last Canis dirus on the continent.

Thanks george76. Coyotes have filled behind the missing wolves, and they suck.
It marks the first time Congress has taken a species off the endangered list.

In summation, a recreational, non-commercial season for the taking of Libtards would seem to be a valid solution to direct reduction of that unwanted population.

The only problem with that is you would have sh!+, guts, and feathers EVERYWHERE.
