The Hill ^ | 4/15/11 | Gautham Nagesh

The White House is circulating a piece of draft legislation that would give the Department of Homeland Security oversight over cybersecurity at civilian agencies, according to a report from FedNewsRadio. The proposed legislation combines the comprehensive cybersecurity bill introduced last year by the Senate Homeland Security Committee with the administration's memo from July 2010 to expand DHS's responsibilities over non-military networks, according to the report. Like the Homeland Security bill sponsored by Sens. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.), Susan Collins (R-Maine)

It’s a step in the process.

Fed:”Boeing, Lockheed and Motorola, we are enacting oversight of your networks due to a national security issue”.

(because we have politicians and bureaucrats who need to sell trade secrets to the Chicoms for plush retirement benefits)

The first sentence tells me this country is over and done with. The WH is floating legislation? I though legislation was supposed to originate in the house. Oh, wait! It IS supposed to. But that old constitution be damned!

No. For years, the government has been trying to get the management of the security of its networks in order. Right now there are too many agencies doing their own thing, and it endangers the security of the overall network. Somebody has to do it, I'm jut not sure DHS is the right agency.

I was pissed when Bush created the monstor of DHS because I knew it was an anti-freedom agency that would be used by the socialists .

How I wish I could have been wrong.

“If he wins in 2012, count on it!”

If he doesn’t win in 2012, count on it! The direction this country is marching in is beyond the occupant of the White House. Our only to willing bureaucracy and outside influences will push for total control of the populace. I’m a proud citizen of the North American Union.

“What are you all going to do if this bastard gets a second term?”

We’re already doing it - taking control of the states. The last election saw more than 700 patriots elected to state legislatures, resulting in conservative control of 26 states. Washington is not the only way to project power.

That needs to continue in the 2012 elections.

Patriots also need to get in gear and elect constitutional sheriffs in their counties. Surrounding liberal cities with patriot sheriffs and armed 2,000 man deputy auxiliary battalions for “emergencies” will go a long way in getting Marxist cities under control.

There’s more than one way to skin a fascist cat.

Oh, believe me, I know. I’ve been pissed about this practically my whole life. Back when I was in high school and they taught that legislation originated in the house I was wondering “Why the heck is the president coming up with budgets and laws?”

I guess we would have to fall back to dial-up, UUCP, usenet news, etc.... with encryption. Welcome back to the 1980’s! (Glad I kept my old modems!)

I’m waiting for the bill that puts DHS out of business.

LOL. I hope you're not waiting for the republicans to propose it. If you recall, the brownshirts were created by Bush.  The republicans love having our own version of the KGB as much as the democrats do.
