SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgender people would be added to the lengthy list of social and ethnic groups that public schools must include in social studies lessons under a landmark bill passed Thursday by the California Senate.

If the bill is adopted by the state Assembly and signed by Gov. Jerry Brown, California would become the first state to require the teaching of gay history.

A state mandating and/or enforcing this type of thing is ludicrous of course.

But it’s worth noting that public skool history curriculum has an already-unhealthy obsession with denigrating figures of the past, especially if they are regarded as heroes (Washington, Lincoln, Churchill, et al).

There have been well-known homosexuals in history that were generals, kings, royalty, etc. As with the rest of the population there were a certain percentage that were evil and worthless human beings.

Somehow I get the feeling that the extremes of shiny happy propaganda will be pursued in any curriculum developed or delivered.

"Stalin's apologist" Walter Duranty of the New York Times was also a Stalinist, an associate of Crowley's ans a participant in some of Crowley's rituals involving homosexual acts. ( The 11th degree OTO ritual devised by Crowley involves sodomy!)

Have any of you seen the textbooks they dish out? I've been out of high school over a decade and boy have things changed. The textbooks for "social studies" is basically propaganda for every left wing position and also glorification of Islam while demonizing Christianity!!!

I have a history degree and NONE of the crap in that text book was relevant for any student!!!

Social studies? That is the problem. They need to learn history not social studies. You know they wont be teaching the history of homosexual dangerous behavior and the spread of aids (in only certain specific groups) in the 1980s and 1990s. In these books homosexuals will be portrayed as American Indians (OPPS, native Americans) where the white male christian European spread disease to both the Indians and gays to kill them and take their land. The SCOTUS decision 'Lawrence v. Texas (2003)' that made homosexual sodomy a new US constitional right (protected behaviour) without an amendment will be taught to be a great victory for all of us. There is no such similar right to smoke.

Yesterday, I was talking to a recent college graduate (the past year) who works in Maryland and he couldn't tell me what Medicare is, never questioned that big deduction from his paycheck. Forget about communism, didnt know what that was either. I actually took history courses as electives in college and am glad I did.

YES YES YES!!! "Social Studies" That is what they call it now. It is all liberal propaganda I have a Bachelor's in Liberal Arts in History and a MBA in Finance. Even in a liberal arts program we learned history not propaganda. They crap they have in the text book is completely irrelevant it is basically America = bad, Western Values = bad, Islam = Good, Killing Mother Earth = bad, ect...

When I have children they will be home schooled.

Google her and the first you tube video shown is from a movie I never heard of called the “The Sentinel” (1977). I’ll choose to remember her that way. ;D
