A mother was involved in a ten-hour stand-off with a police SWAT team after refusing to give her child some medication.
Maryanne Godboldo, from Detroit, was accused of medically neglecting her 13-year-old daughter Ariana by not administering her with an anti-psychotic drug.
Staff from the Child Protective Services, accompanied by police, turned up at Godboldo's home to take her child into state care.

I’m sure clintoon’s former attorney general, reno, was a consultant here. Sheesh! These LIB fascists are too much.
Our children belong to the state.
Government forced drugging of children. Nice.
Someone is in desperate need of an anti-psychotic medication, and I'm not referring to the son.
My Autistic daughter was taking that for a short while, it was HORRIBLE. No one should be forced to take that against their will, she is 25 years old and now is incontinent at night. We NEVER EVER had a problem with that before she started taking that very powerful drug. She has been off it for over six months and she still has not regained the ability to wake and relieve herself. God Bless this Mom for LOVING her daughter enough to try and protect her from the black heart of the Central Planners.
Soon out on DVD......Nanny States Gone Wild
The beginning of the report is misleading. They didn’t call in a SWAT team just because she refused to give her child medication.
“A SWAT team then descended on the 56-year-old woman’s house with a tank and automatic rifles after she was accused of firing a gun at police officers.”
Having already solved all the other crime problems in Detroit...
To top it off she was hit with a half million dollar bond! If she that rich?
All your kids are belong to U.S.
"Maryanne Godboldo is now facing criminal charges including firing a weapon in her house and resisting a police officer."
So there are two versions of how she fired a shot and the strangeness of not charging her with firing at a police officer if she really had.
Police come to my house to force my kids to use dope, I won’t shoot *at* them . . .
The mother deserves a medal. At some point, the police have to say, “We’re going in to do what?”
I’d be willing to bet a negotiator could have done the same job for a lower price. But that’s Detroit. Have a problem? Send in the goon squad with the APC.
If only the mother had been aware that a simple waiver to avoid the immunizations could have prevented the supposed need for the offending medications Link to the original Detroit News article, http://detnews.com/article/20110328/METRO01/103280326/Detroit-mother-jailed-after-standoff check out the comments.
NO. The government knows what it’s doing. It discovered a family and a segment of the Detroit community that was opting out of their control. They are now correcting the situation and sending a clear message so that other families who decide to go this route understand the rule of the game.
THE RULE: You are either totally out of the government system, or totally in.
She may have fired a weapon in her house as a warning, and the police may have thought that she was firing at them at the time. So, I don’t see that as strange.
The mother didn’t object to her daughter being immunized it was the heavy duty psychotropic drug prescribed by a doctor at The Children’s Center for alleged side-effects of the immunizations. She didn’t even object to the psychotropic drug until she saw even worse side-effects from it.
What is strange is bringing in a SWAT team and a tank for one shot fired.
Somehow I don’t think ‘totally out’ is an option unless you can manage to be totally invisible. That’s becoming increasingly difficult no matter where you live.
A shrink once gave my daughter Risperdal. Turned her into a friggin zombie.
I flushed ‘em after the 3rd day.
