The “them” were those who think the long form BC will resolve something. MY point was the long form BC only resolves something if his birthplace is really in doubt AND his birthplace is the key issue.
As you state - “I am of the opinion that it doesn’t matter if the long form is released because, as I’ve already said, the information needed to resolve the eligibility issue is already at hand”. Right, a Vattel-style NBC interpretation wont care where Obama was born, so long as it was to a foreign parent, he wont be NBC by that definition.
“Do you believe Obama was born in Honolulu?
What I “believe” is not the issue.”
It may not be ‘the issue’ but it is my question. have at it.
You can decide that it’s not settled with epistemological certainty of 100.000% , but we know he was born, and there is 100% certainty it was somewhere, and the only credible evidence shared has pointed to Honolulu. my point is doubts or lack of cetainty should NOT lead to hostility to the idea that his birthplace in Honolulu is a reasonable conclusion based on the evidence. Because it IS, and nobody has brought forth a plausible alternative scenario. Hence ... if not Honolulu, where?
“I can’t know until something other than an abstract “walk-in” document is provided.”
Several evidence points that go beyond an abstract document HAVE been provided - as I shared. newspaper announcements, COLB, state officials’ statements. so you KNOW more than an ‘abstract’ document exists, you also know state officials have said his birth records are on file, they shared the index file, and they vouched that they confirm his birth in Hawaii. And you know there were two newspaper birth announcements of his birth in Honolulu papers.
You know more than you let on. ;-)
Thx for keeping it civil.
Civility?
Post 915 you said
You truly are an idiot.
That the civility you want from others?
You really know no shame. Very ‘not’ conservative.
It may not be the issue but it is my question. have at it.
I already had at it.
You know more than you let on.
We sure do have a different definition of "know". No wonder we disagree on natural born citizen.
Thx for keeping it civil.
I try to keep the ogre in me in check. Sometimes, though...it's tough!
