Do you have any evidence that the minds of undecideds are being changed because of this issue in particular? I agree his numbers are going down, but the economy, deficit, Libya, etc. may well be the cause of that, not the birther argument.

In any case, I'm not opposed to individual citizens making the argument, because there's not much of a backlash possibility there. I just don't want the candidates themselves to do it. Outside hatchmen/hatchwomen doing it isn't as much of a problem.

I have personally spoken with 5 people who admitted to voting for Obama who new nothing about the BC issue. When I was done, they were horrified and said they would not be so quick to vote for him again.

One of me, 5 of the. Multiply that by all the birthers pushing the issue. I’d say the issue works just fine.
