WASHINGTON (AP) -- Hispanics now outnumber African-Americans for the first time in most U.S. metropolitan areas, shifting the political and racial dynamics in cities once dominated by whites and blacks.
Census figures released Thursday highlight the growing diversity of the nation's 366 metro areas, which were home to a record 83.7 percent share of the U.S. population.

The congressional black caucus and all the civil rights groups support amnesty for illegals.
They are too stupid to realize that they are creating their own irrelevance.
Actually, white liberals are even worse off when you think about it.
On the other hand, all the white liberals will just move to conservative areas that they haven’t destroyed yet to get away from the latinos and blacks.
Man, liberals sure now how to destroy a country and do it fast.
I could care less what race outnumbers another as long as it ain’t the muzzies and/or the liberals doing the outnumbering. We don’t need this despite how hard both may try..........

Just looking now, the Pittsburgh metro area is only 1% Hispanic, the least out of any metro above 1 million, and almost all of the least Hispanic metro areas are in the rust belt area and West Virginia.
I guess there is a silver lining to decades upon decades of economic decline.
I'm very happy to represent the 16.3% minority.
Here in Columbus, there are still many more blacks, but their numbers have been stagnant for decades. Hispanics, on the other hand are multiplying fast, up 25% in the last five years.
Blacks are going to lose their “most favored minority” status!
The civil rights crowd isn’t going to keep Hispanics at the back of the equality bus forever.
This has been coming for some time. It’s very important to recall that it is a long term democrat plan to insist on dividing the American population by race and ethnic origin. It is equally important to recall that they propose race based legislation. My observation is that Planned Parenthood is doing it’s job on the hood. Now, the Hispanics are going to be cutting into the black power base and cutting out the Jacksons and Sharptons of the world. Guess what, they don’t feel the least bit guilty about it. Get the popcorn are gonna see some racism now.

Um, the statement is an oxymoron.
ALL of the minority races except for the whites are as liberal as the day is long.
There is an exception for the Cubans who fled Communism, but thats about it.
Blather about making political inroads into minority groups has done remarkably nothing over the decades except increase the illegal invasion by flood along with any number of RINOS who cater to them.

Going by the list I’m looking at, Columbus is the 5th least Hispanic metro area with a population over 1 million.

Really, where I live, people have no idea how Hispanic the rest of the country is becoming. I’ve heard that at my local public high school, there is only one actual Hispanic student out of 1200, and that’s in a middle-class, not upper-class, community. I think I’ve met more adopted Hispanics than actual Hispanic families, and it seems that most people have seen so few Hispanics that they can’t even recognize them as Hispanic when they see them.
Black people could be a key component in strengthening our borders.
If they start to bitch enough, their masters in the Dem Party might listen....
If the two groups get into a knock down drag out fight over the spoils we may yet be saved. We will be much poorer but we will be alive and maybe we can rebuild. However, so far the coalition has held together.
One of the big problems is that the Dems tried to get the Hispanics to buy into black dependency in the 1960s and identify with black dysfunctionality. Unfortunately, the Dems were pretty successful in some areas and among certain groups.
Black dysfunctionality, of course, is the result of two things: the lingering hold-overs of slave culture and the crushing impact of the Great Society.
Most Hispanics who come here (and they are by no means all illegals, contrary to what you’d think from FR) want to get ahead legally and on their own, which is why both upper Manhattan and Miami are thriving with small businesses, run by Dominicans in the first case and Cubans, Mexicans and Venezuelans in the second. These cultures are very commercially-oriented cultures and we need to encourage this.
Strangely enough, prior to the Great Society, my Southern town had a number of small black-owned businesses. They disappeared after that and the formerly prosperous and tidy black area became a crack-house infested slum.
Blacks are being marginalized by hard working Mexican illegals (and legals)—with the abortion in the black community and violence, drug use and inter racial marriage —within a century their will be no more black Americans! They will go the way of blacks in Mexico, They will be extinct. Its not racism—just fact of life.
