Wanted; Plus: Other young missing women in the Pacific Northwest

By Michelle Malkin • April 12, 2011 12:52 AM

It’s been more than a month, but my family hasn’t given up hope and hasn’t stopped looking for my missing cousin, Marizela Perez. Many volunteers across the country have joined us in this search. We can’t thank them enough for their dedication, energy, generosity, expertise, and commitment to finding Marizela.

America’s Most Wanted, John Walsh’s ground-breaking Fox television show, is now featuring Marizela’s story on its website here [Click Here for AMW.COM story]. Their appeal for help:

“Detectives with the Seattle Police Department say 18-year-old Marizela Perez left her home in Rainer Beach around noon on Saturday, March 5, 2011, en route to the campus library at the University of Washington.

A few hours later, surveillance cameras caught her shopping inside of a Safeway in Seattle’s University District. With her green Starbucks mug in-hand, she walked right by a camera, and exited the store a short time later. She hasn’t been seen since….If you know where Marizela Perez might be, you’ve got to call our Hotline right away at 1-800-CRIME-TV.”

Marizela is one of several young women who have gone missing in the Pacific Northwest over the last year.

I heard last week from a relative of Alexandra Xua, a 20-year-old college student [Click Here for information about Alexandra Xu] who vanished from the Oregon City, Oregon area in January 2011 and is still missing:

And Kathy Chou, a 19-year-old Renton, Wash. student [Click Here for info on Kathy Chou] has been missing for nearly a year:

Please look carefully at their photos and click on the links to their stories — and if you have any information about any of these cases, contact law enforcement and AMW immediately. Every pair of eyeballs, every set of boots on the ground, makes a difference.

America's Most Wanted is now involved... A good thing to get more people involved in this effort.

I thought at one point that there might be someone sort of hateful motive towards Michelle involved. It is starting to look like some sort of serial pervert involved.

A while back, Playboy magazine promoted some very hateful things towards Michelle, and some other liberal journalists thought that she deserved that...

Off subject, but hopefully with America's Most Wanted giving this some visibility, it might be resolved.

Title should read:

That mouse of mine must have gotten loose and did something I didn't it to...

I wonder if there’s a racial motive or connection. At least the three featured here appear at least part Asian.

I’ve got bad feelings about this, I just don’t believe she ran away.

I have a very real fear that some nutter mistook Marizela for Malkin herself.

Either that or wanted to hurt Michelle, it's possible.

It's just a dangerous world, for a pretty young girl in particular.

Some people thought I was evil for teaching my daughter to shoot as soon as she was big enough to hold a revolver. Her high school graduation gift from me was a .38 snubbie. She's already used it twice, hasn't needed to shoot anyone, they ran like Hell when she drew down on them. They don't know how close they came, she will follow through, whatever it takes.

Three missing young women of Asian descent? I wonder if some sort of serial nut is working there? I pray that this will end soon.

My 16 year old carries around her mace. She did use it once in the gym of her school on some guy that was annoying her, she sprayed him in the back of the head. I had to tell darling daughter that the mace should not be used for that reason.

A good friend of mine's sister was murdered in Maryland and she was the topic of one of the Unsolved Mysteries episodes back in the early '90's.

The perp was eventually discovered while he was in prison in Fla. for another crime. He made the mistake of bragging about it to his cell mate who turned him in.......

These programs definitely serve a purpose and have had great outcomes.......

Praying for her and the other girls to be found, and the criminal to be dealt with as he has dealt with them.

I agree. That is why I thought that this is the work of some Serial Pervert/Nut

There are considerable number of Asians in the Pacific Northwest. My bet is that it is an Asian man... Not someone with a hatred of Asians.

I consider the recent movie Taken to be realistic.

One basis for the plot is that the father has like 48 or 72 hours to find the daughter or she is just gone after that. That movie was about a sex slave ring. Just grab girls, with the help of some very mean men.

But one probably only has a short period of time to find them -- which is the reason for AMBER ALERTS

You can preach until you turn blue in the face and some kids won't take you seriously. Some of the girls who were in high school with my grandson are ripe for disaster.

I never could figure why girls are attracted to low life men but many are, it's like playing with fire, but the consequences can be even worse.

A few months ago I think. What’s up. I’m waiting for Gary to come home sipping some vodka.
