This morning on CNN the "crawler"...those little news items that run on the bottom of the screen while the talking heads or doing what they do, a little item caught my attention.
It said: "Each 10 cents per gallon increase in the price of gasoline decreases the number of highway deaths by 2.3%".
(Excerpt) Read more at cnn.com ...
So if it ever goes above $8.35 we should see the creation of new lives.
Well if gas was over $8.35 a gallon, people would spend less time driving and more time in the backseat...if you know what I mean. :)
How low would it have to go to kill everyone?
The reason a 10 cent per gallon increase reduces deaths by 2.3%, is that 2.3% of you can no longer afford to be on the road, or, we collectively drive 2.3% less because of that very 10 cent per gallon increase.
Different theme, exactly. Few days ago I was in the office where the tv was turned to Commie News Network (as it always is) and the story was comparing US gas prices to European gas prices, as if to say - look, you complaining whiny americans have it great, just look at what the euro’s are paying for gas.
Of course, no such stories were evident in 2008 when W was in office and the price of gas was skyrocketing that spring and summer. It was all “W and his oil buddies profiteering!! 24/7
Well, yes that's true but that's using the correct math and there's no excitement in that.
Facts are so un-cool don’t cha know! LOL
Some common Dem themes over the last couple years:
* High unemployment is a “funcation” where you get to be home with your family.
* Paying unemployment benefits grows the economy
* High gas prices are good for us because nobody driving means nobody gets killed in car accidents
* Nuclear war is good because mass deaths of people will result in less CO2 being emitted
* The government paying for health care for another 30 million people is going to reduce health care costs for the nation as a whole
* We can spend our way to prosperity
Is there one single solitary thing the Dems do or propose that makes sense?
Yes, indeed.
If we assume that free gasoline results in the death of everyone who drives and that each 10 cent increase results in 2.3% fewer deaths, my calculations show that we will reach the nirvana of zero deaths at $42.50/gallon.
Oh, happy day! Everyone will live forever.
“How low would it have to go to kill everyone?”
I’m not exactly sure on that number.
But I’m quite certain that the liberal plan to open the strategic reserves to lower domestic prices would be equivalent, at CNN’s level of thinking, to Saddam gassing one of his own villages.
That’s super! The things you learn in a Dem-held presidency. Funemployment. Staycation. The benefits of expensive fuel.
So this also works in reverse. For every .10 cents it goes down the deaths will spike up! Hmmm. That means if gas goes down to .15 cents everyone who drives will die!!!! AHHHHH We’re all gonna DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just saw a local news report about the local police department being equipped with Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) cameras on their patrol cars for nightvision purposes. Of course it’s all paid for from federal homeland security grants.
Cool! So if gas goes up to $10/gallon, not only will traffic accidents completely halt, but the mere act of driving on the interstate will statistically compel people to rise from the dead. I love liberal math!
raise the price to $12 and you are pretty much assured of sidelining most autos and reducing deaths nearly Zero.
Who wouldn’t be for saving lives? /s
Gas prices was the topic on Liberal Talk radios Bill Press show this morning. Press and nearly everyone of his Liberal callers said the higher prices was a good thing, even saying that 6.50 or 7.00 would be a positive thing if it gets people out of their cars and walking or taking bikes. That is the mindset of these fools.
Killjoy.
Killjoy.
Killjoy.
Duh!
Duh!
