UNITED NATIONS Bolivia will this month table a draft United Nations treaty giving "Mother Earth" the same rights as humans having just passed a domestic law that does the same for bugs, trees and all other natural things in the South American country.
The bid aims to have the UN recognize the Earth as a living entity that humans have sought to "dominate and exploit" to the point that the "well-being and existence of many beings" is now threatened.
The wording may yet evolve, but the general structure is meant to mirror Bolivia's Law of the Rights of Mother Earth, which Bolivian President Evo Morales enacted in January.
That document speaks of the country's natural resources as "blessings," and grants the Earth a series of specific rights that include rights to life, water and clean air; the right to repair livelihoods affected by human activities; and the right to be free from pollution.
It also establishes a Ministry of Mother Earth, and provides the planet with an ombudsman whose job is to hear nature's complaints as voiced by activist and other groups, including the state.
"If you want to have balance, and you think that the only (entities) who have rights are humans or companies, then how can you reach balance?" Pablo Salon, Bolivia's ambassador to the UN, told Postmedia News. "But if you recognize that nature too has rights, and (if you provide) legal forms to protect and preserve those rights, then you can achieve balance."

What IS in the water in Bolivia?
Maybe the high altitude in parts of the country has placed their brains under an added gamma ray dose from space?
Ah, the pagan worship of the erdgeist, as Thomas Carlyle pointed out, so prominent in the socialist agenda.
Violation of separation of church and state.
Possibly a residual from all those pagan nazi's that Bolivia granted haven to.
Some of the worst polluters in history were the Eastern-bloc countries during the Cold War.
In honor of that day and Mother Earth (peace be upon her), I'm going to gather up discarded tires.......and burn them.
I get foaming at the mouth angry when I read this sort of thing. People trying to push earth worshiper laws that openly make humans subservient to nature.

There is no balance you fool! Man is at a constant rivalry with other animals and living things. They are gifts and resources we use as we see fit. Earth worshipers are asking for holy war with the monotheists. I like to see them push this in Islamic countries.
The Apostle Paul:
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible manand birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. 24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
Direct opposite of what the Bible teaches, namely, that man is to dominate the earth and all creatures on it. But then again, we don't exactly live in thriving, enlightened Christian times, that's passe now. The new "light" is the darkness of mankind's pride and stupidity. It's interesting though, to ponder 'who', (or 'what'), is behind these sick, anti-biblical ideas. If you look with a Christian mindset you can almost see the spiritual battle between good and evil, angels and demons, raging throughout the world. From Hollywood's most popular movies to children's cartoons, demonic looking beasts are all the rage of the day. Science, technology and medicine are worshipped everywhere, while God is an afterthought.
Perhaps this is why the thug Obama can manipulate so many people with "health care" scares. As though he, and not God, will determine the quality of your life and the day you will die. Nothing happens by chance, there's a reason for everything. You drive God out of the world and His eternal opponent steps right in and earth worshipping, ego centric scum like the global warming alarmists, these Bolivian bosses and the thug Obama are introduced into power to snatch away all that is right and good.
That was the exact passage that I was thinking about!
Satire...please tell me this is satire...
So a cow having flatulance will be a UN offense.Obama is for all of this UN global communism garbage and people on this forum waste time cry babying about primaries of people that are not even running???
***...having just passed a domestic law that does the same for bugs,...***
Does this mean that you can’t kill bed bugs? Guess I’ll just have to cancel my trip to Bolivia.
If the Lenin spouting granola munchers drink a cup of java harvested by exploited workers, at their local Starbucks that is built on fragile earth soil, won’t they be violating the basic rights of Mother Gaia??
Nope, not satire. Related: http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2011/apr/10/bolivia-enshrines-natural-worlds-rights
Got that right. The idea that these communists are now all about protecting Mother Earth is laughable beyond imagination. Obviously, it's another way they figure they hammer us which means Obamao will be leading the charge on it.
Not the water, but many people, including the crackhead president Morales, chew cocaine from the leaf.
