There is a quote out there that sometimes get[s] attributed to [former] Republican Senate Leader Everitt Dirksen and sometimes not. The quote is that there [are] two parties in Washington - the stupid party and the evil party. Every once in a while the stupid party and the evil party get together and do something that is both stupid and evil. In Washington, that is called bipartisanship. Our United States Senate, led by Republican Senator Saxby Chambliss of Georgia and Democratic Senator Mark Warner of Virginia, are on the verge of leading the Congress into doing something both stupid and evil.
It will be heralded by the Washington Press Corp[s] as a grownup act of bipartisan[ship].
To give you a sense of just how bad it is, even Barack Obama is getting in on the act and signaling he will support what Chambliss and Warner come up with if only as a way to shut down serious conversation about Paul Ryan's "Path to Prosperity."
He’s just another D.C. politician that’s been there a little too long...

Ping!!!
Bipartisanship is overrated. If they don’t perform like weight/counterweight, it isn’t working right. the parties are supposed to keep each other in check.

Typical DC thinking...the solution to all problems is to take more of MY money and use it to buy votes so you can stay in power. I wonder what would happen if Bozo issued an Executive Order, saying:
"Today I have issued an Executive Order, effective today, in which every agency in the Federal gov't, with the exception of the Military, have operational budgets that are 10% smaller than they were yesterday. Agency managers will be expected to provide the same or better services than before. Those managers who cannot meet this measure within the next three months will be replaced by someone who can. Have a nice day."
New tagline...
I would love to see the republicans force this to the point of a government shutdown and let Obama threaten not to pay the troops so that someone with courage could stand up and ask him if paying the men and women in service is less important than funding NPR and urine jar artists.
Inside the beltway the (R)s and the (D)s are like Coke and Pepsi. They compete a bit but they are happy with their own market share and will work together to keep Dr. Pepper out of the house.

Stupidly arrested, hmmm. Are they ready to have a beer summit???

Good general description, but for this budget deal, they act like Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee playing non-contact Rugby, score being kept under the rules of rhythmic gymnastics.
They’ve all gotta GO!
