Respectfully, the internet links are from the offending colleges, e.g. http://www.marianuniversity.edu/counseling/ takes you to the page with PP on it.

The Cardinal Newman Society has been leading the charge to identify and publicize those universities who clearly violate both the spirit and letter of the Magesterium as well as creating scandal.

Regarding another poster’s question about the Pope’s knowledge, the responsibility is squarely on the shoulders of the local bishop, as well as the leaders of particular religious orders who lead or manage these universities.

Sunlight is a great disinfectant! Let’s hope the light the Newman Society is shining on these places gets them to change their ways.

Most bizarrely, listing PP under “sex counselling?”

To put it gracefully, some of those "ties" are strained, at best.

Catholic colleges, like any institution of higher learning, hire a diverse portfolio of professors. If a professor in the math, or chemistry department has some loose affiliation to Planned Parenthood, who cares?

I went to one of those 150 Catholic colleges. And, my alma mater has Jewish Rabbis, protestant theologians and even an Imam or two - does that mean the university has abandoned their Catholic traditions? No, not at all. In fact, the Catholic tradition is one of religious pluralism and ecumenical outreach ESPECIALLY in the academic environment.

When great Catholic schools stop hiring people based on prior affiliations those people have, or may continue to have with organizations that have some cognitive dissonance with Catholic orthodoxy, then those Catholic schools cease being "great".
