I think this story is bogus. If I were John Doe-2 and as powerful as Nichols seems to believe I am, I’d have had him silenced years ago..........A dead man can tell no tales.

I'd have him silenced years ago...Don't you think "silencing" Nichols in prison would perpetuate the conspiracy theories? I would guess they would rather just let Nichols keep swinging in the wind.
