(CNN) -- Reports that surfaced last week about the remains of a "gay caveman" found in the Czech Republic have prompted scientists to take on an unlikely foe -- an overhyped news media that may be overblowing the archaeological find.
"Dudes! I could be wrong, but I think that to have a 'gay caveman,' you need a skeleton that is both gay and a caveman. And this ain't either!" John Hawks, an associate professor of anthropology at University of Wisconsin-Madison, wrote on his blog in bold type.
Hawks joined a chorus of fellow paleoanthropologists, archaeologists and other bone experts who carefully dissected media reports about the dig, which began to increase after first appearing in British and Czech newspapers.

What do you think the consequences would be if other scientists DID confirm a "gay caveman"?? How fast would the 'born that way'/'it's in the DNA' crowd jump on that news? Surprised that CNN gave an opposing viewpoint here!

How else can you explain pastel cave paintings and a rock slab with a dust ruffle?

Oh, so what’s they meant on The Flintstones when they said “we’ll have a gay old time”.

“I suppose the obsidian butt plug was just to

or cave gerbils.

Ha!
How can homosexuality which assures zero offspring “evolve” into being?

So what was in the jugs?
If grave goods reflect life, there may be yeast cultures, berries, maybe the guy was the first brewer...
You'd want someone who could get the tribe schwacked for the big post-hunt celebration to carry the tools of his trade to the afterlife...
just saying...the data aren't all in.

If the skeleton were a fag skeleton, shouldn’t there be a “bone” sticking out of the mouth?
To: Smokin' Joe
If grave goods reflect life, there may be yeast cultures, berries, maybe the guy was the first brewer... I was thinking the same thing. If this was Neolithic culture, there may already have existed artisans who specialized in particular activities. One can think of a number of scenarios more plausible than the "gay caveman" angle.

So finding out that this abnormality is not new to this
century makes it wonderful and acceptable? I suppose finding
evidence of cancerous tumors on the remains should make us
accept cancer as something to accept also.
