That which is in Italics is direct quotes from the article.

The rest is just bits and pieces from the article.

Bohner got the better end of the stick.

Democrats wanted no cuts and then conceded to $10 billion.

They ended up giving up $38.5 billion in cuts. They also had to agree to Federally Fundede abortions in Washington, DC

39 billion in cuts when we have a 1.65 trillion deficit????????????
Next year the much hailed Ryan budget is only 5% better than Obama’s adding another trillion plus to the debt???????????

This is not VICTORY.

One typo: The Democrats had to agree to NO FEDERALLY FUNDED ABORTIONS in Washington, DC.

Additionally, the deal lays the ground work for Ryan's FY2012 plan and beyond...

In my opinion, Bohner claimed he got the best deal he could.

The 0 man (0bama) would have made it such that the military would have been unpaid during a shutdown.

The 0 man is that big of an @$$hol3 (begins with the letter a and ends in the letter e) to make those dying for our country suffer!!! As idiot-in-chief, the zero man can prove how cruel he can be to the US Military.

Let us not forget this come election time!

Some perspective. “Biggest spending cut in history” is $38.9 billion. Biggest spending package in history, the stimulus, was $787 BILLION.

Bohner should have held his ground on defunding EPA and NPR. He failed to frame the EPA issue in terms of destroying the economy with implementation of a debunked hoax. Defunding NPR is a no-brainer. The dems will fight to the death for abortion, so defunding Planned Parenthood should have been the throw away demand.

This isn’t even re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titantic, it’s moving around the salad forks.

I hope the buffoons set up a “study” group to “monitor” the visitor numbers at the National Parks and Air and Space Museum this morning. I’d like to see if this “averted” government shutdown really does drive up the visitor numbers into the billions as the DemocRATS and their commie toadies in the state run “media” claimed it would.

They ended up giving up $38.5 billion in cuts.

Has the spending clock increased by $38.5 billion since the vote yet?

This whole waste of time and money, building up to the gov't "saving itself" on cable news, amounts to nothing more than a fart in a windstorm.

In my opinion, this puts us on the road to greece and riots in the streets, it didn't have to be this way.

Given that it was 2 against 1, the Speaker did ok.

The real fight comes next. But I don’t think it’s going to be as easy for the dems.

I’ve never met a republican with a backbone....except for Sarah Palin. She’s the only one that will stand up and take the hit.

Boehner is a coward.

How is a DOD cut a loss? Across the board means across the board. I guess Arabs may have to solve some of their own damn problems.

That's a bunch of BS! Boehner did not address the root cause of out of control federal spending. The root cause is due to Congress expanding their powers far beyond the enumerated powers granted to Congress in Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution. Violating Article 1 Section 8 has created not only an Unconstitutional government but one so large it has become cost prohibitive.

The only way to reduce federal spending is by eliminating all federal agencies not in compliance with any of the enumerated powers in Article 1 Section 8. Doing so will dramatically reduce the size of government along with the associated costs. Any budget proposal that does not address this issue is nothing more than smoke and mirrors!

2. Democrats got $2 billion in DoD cuts -- $513 million for the rest of the year.

This is not one for the "loss" column. the DoD needs to be cut just like everything else.

I think we all knew the moment Boehner took the gavel that it was all over. The very fact that he took this dog and pony show to almost the very last moment just makes him look even weaker than we thought he was. He should have folded earlier and saved this nation alot of anger and worry. He is a major loser.

Bohner got the better end of the stick.

Now, the debate is about how much to cut rather than how much to spend. That is a victory in and of itself.

This is not about Boehner or a contest for which Washington power structure wins, it's about the American People and the Constitution.

Nobody WON. WE ALL LOST. THis is nothing more than a paper cut, when the operation should have started at the belt line instead. All of Obama’s new agencies, Czars, etc, all got their addictions taken care of quite handily.
