My son called and said he was not going to be paid. He is a Sergent in the Air force, a Veteran, currently on base.
I heard of another Soldier who said that he was getting half pay.
Obamma is not making those serving abroad nor those at home very happy.
If it affects his tee time, he might be upset...
Maybe golf and killing babies is all 0bama cares about...
He is due for a vacation.
I am not certain how the DOD, acting under the legal jurisdiction of the UCMJ, will respond to this unprecedented crisis created by the inaction of Congress.
What does the JCS of the DOD do now?
Ping for your opinion.

“yah...our Daughter is at Fort Hood where her new husband is getting ready to deploy to Iraq in a couple of weeks, and she is shitting kittens about how she is going to pay her bills next week. The Missus and I are prepared to help out, and for now were trying to keep her calmed down.”
Yep I can confirm as well. Just talked to two guys I know at Fort Hood and they confirm on their intranet, where they can see their direct deposit info, their upcoming pay is down to 200 bucks for this month. Normally around 1100. One guy is married and ahs three kids. Thankfully he is not deployed right now. They have also been told they will be running the px and all other services on post as all civilian and contract labor will be shut down.
Prayers lifted for your daughter and her husband. We are in the same boat: our youngest son is enlisted in the Air Force, newly married, and our oldest is now considered “non-essential” (he is an electrical engineer who works on the designs for the new jets). Of course we will help both of them, as long as we can. We are all angry. We will all remember this when elections roll around.
Thank God he is coming home to Georgia first. He can stay here for as long as the Democrats want him unpaid.
He is more than welcome to stay here while Obama and the Democrats do not want to pay him.
Soros’ Secretaries of State will make sure their votes don’t count.
The current political leadership has made a drastic choice. With the imposition of self destructive Rules of Engagement, the comments by members of the Obama administration that a visit to a military base was entering enemy territory, it is clear that Obama is pushing for a nasty form of change in America's Order of Battle.
If the USA were a Third Wold banana republic, not paying the military could set the scene that, with other disconcerting disequilibrating factors, open the possibility to a coup d'etat in the fullness of time. Fortunately, many Americans feel their country is outside world history.
One problem with that feeling is the risk of truly ending up outside of world history. Obama and company are playing for the highest stakes while treating the current American population as expendable.
As I posted before, the GOP-lead House had passed a measure that kept the Government operating for one week (7 days), but funded military salaries through the end of FY2011 (September).
Obama would have made the troops fight in three wars (plus the recent Libya conflict), and not pay them.
I consider him to be truly evil.
There is a story, from the book Unlimited Access, about the Clinton Administration that Chelsea Clinton, then about 12, was playing with her friends.
She pointed at her secret service detail, and called them her "Personally trained pigs". The Senior Officer on the detail stayed after the other children left and spoke to Chelsea saying that she should not have said that about them.
Chelsea responded: "But that is how my parents refers to the Secret Service."
Please vote, and get members of the military to vote. And spread the word that it was Democrats and Obama responsible for trying to cut off pay to the military.
The Democrats love to scare people: senior citizens, etc.
I am getting a little feed up with this nonsense.
Keep the Faith!
It is not “moot” to me.
I am a USAF veteran.
Every active duty service member’s life is very important to me.
