Sarah Palin Tells GOP 'Don't Retreat', Other Potential 2012 Presidential Candidates Disagree
abcnews.com ^ | April 8, 2011

Posted on 04/08/2011 6:00:51 PM PDT by Al B.

As the deadline to avoid a government shutdown approached Friday night, Sarah Palin pushed Republican Congressional leaders one more time to hold their ground.

"GOP: don't retreat! The country is going broke. We can't AFFORD cowboy poetry & subsidizing abortion," Palin tweeted. "If we can't fight to defund this nonsense now when we have the chance, do you think we'll win the big fight on entitlement reform later on?"

[...]

Notably, some of Palin’s fellow possible 2012 presidential contenders appeared to be at odds with her Friday evening tweet, counseling GOP leaders on Capitol Hill that it’s time to cut a deal.

“I am ready for a big fight that will change the arc of history,” Rep. Michelle Bachmann, R-Minn., wrote on Twitter this afternoon. “The current fight in Washington is not that fight.”

[...]

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.....“Nobody’s more pro-life than me. Nobody. But as much as I want to see Planned Parenthood defunded, as much as I want to see N.P.R lose their funding, the reality is the president and the Senate are never going to go along with that. So win the deal you can win and live to fight another day.”

Governor Palin is 100% on target here.

Unless the Republicans deliver when they have the chance, they might not get another chance ever.

The voters who cast ballots for them in 2010 expect results and will cast judgement on the Republicans next year.

I guess Bachmann is just another one of the mush heads. This is disappointing.

She is my rep. But I do not want anyone from congress to run for pres. I want all outsiders. And only if they come from Alaska.

You know...looking at some of your contributions to the forum, me thinks you need to align yourself and support good ol’Ron Paul. You two could be good for each other!!

Palin 2012
This confirms that she’s the best choice for conservative fighters.

I like her, she's a good rep.

Congresscritters don't win the nomination of any party, they just don't. I think she's just looking for future name recognition, fundraising strength, and wants to figure out how she can climb the ladder from Minnesooota.....a daunting task.......

Too soon!

It would reduce her lines of communication. She knows what she’s doing; she’s a master polititian, who has won office against massive odds twice.

We are trillions in debt, the amount of money here is like taking a grain of sand out of a five gallon bucket of sand and saying look what I did.

The GOP is going to face an Obozo war chest that could probably take care of the deficit. If she’s as strong as she looks [and I LIKE her], jump in now, end it quickly, and start raising money for the REAL enemy, Il Douche.

Well it looks like congress ignored her advice tonight.

You know if Palin had run for House of Representatives last year she probably would have beat Boehner for Speaker and been able to make sure this never happened. She would have shut-down the government weeks ago and by now Obama would have caved in and signed on to the riders and made law the original $100B in cuts passed by the House. It's really a tragedy that Palin didnt do that and she let us get stuck with that crappy bill.

MB isnt perfect but at least she is in there fighting. Stop bashing MB and call Palin and tell her to run for President if you REALLY believe she would be the best. I will consider her with whoever else runs. Or she could run for House Speaker.
