FWIW this is what the House has to deal with. I personally think they're doing the best they can under the circumstances.

I agree at least this paints democrats willing to shutdown the gov. for abortion. Makes them look extra petty.

I agree....Coburn is one of my senators.....he’s hardcore conservative to say the least. No one wants to defund the troops....this is all politics at this point....

Should the Republican cave in here and ink this deal that means funding to Planned Parenthood, then
EFF THEM!!
They will never have any credibility with future budget deals. And even worse - they will make it even easier for Obammie to win re-election in '12.

Id like to defund Planned Parenthood, but I understand that Republicans dont have complete control of the elected government, Toomey said on MSNBC.
Hey Toomey - this is the closest the GOP House will ever have a "Filibuster" - cave on this little couple a billion exercise and the debt ceiling and the 2012 budgets are gone forever. LEARN HOW TO NEGOTIATE before waltzing into Congress.

First of all quitting because you know you can’t win? So, If the Sooners KNOW they won’t beat the Longhorns I assume Mr. Coburn will advise them to stay home.
Second, I have a feeling BooHoo Boner does not have the votes.

This is the bottom line. If they cave on this, THROW THE BUMS OUT!
You don’t win by caving. That’s been the Republicans’ problem for the past 60 or 70 years.
And nothing could be more egregious than taking huge sums of tax money and using it to fund a greedy organization that uses it to corrupt school children and kill babies.

“If the Democrats think they are willing to shut down the government over Planned Parenthood funding (as Mike Pence has said he is), then they are likely to at least offer concessions.”

I see the NY Slimes is joining in the misrepresentation.Conservatives Urge Boehner to Cut a Budget Deal and Move On
There is a difference between advocating a 'deal' so you're not painted the losers by the media and saying cut a deal and move on because we've got bigger fish to fry.
Problem is if the Dems are fighting us this hard over $30B imagine what they'll do when we're talking trillions of $ and turning medicare into a voucher system, block granting medicaid to the states, etc. It's only going to get worse. The House and Senate GOP need to show Obama & Reid the gun they brought to the fight. Knives won't get it done.
