Well for starters you take ‘most’ and turn it into ‘only.’. Secondly, okay you’ve traveled. So have I. Including five years on a Japanese island. I am not talking about what I want for Japan; however the collective Japan is in for some very hard times. Britain? You can’t seriously still think they are out ally of yesteryear can you? You let fondness for DBF and reality of now escape you

"You can’t seriously still think they are out ally of yesteryear can you?"

First off any country is an ally to us only as long as we have common cause together. For the most part, we and Britian do share common cause most of the time. As for thinking back to yesteryear. It seems that you are the one thinking back to yesteryear. The days when German U-Boats were diesel subs ruling the nether regions. Today's diesel subs are extremely advanced.

I'm happy you travelled. I'm happy you've been to Japan. So then you've seen real third world I presume. Somalia is third world. Pakistan is third world. Since you've been to Japan you know it is not third world. Look, after Hurricane Katrina, should the rest of the world have pronounced the United States in desperate straights and going to third world status? I think not. Japan is more than Fukijima. While this nuclear tragedy is indeed going to harm them. It does not send them to third world status and if you've been there, you should know that.

To bring this back on point, your first statement was that diesel subs are for the third world. That is what I and others are trying to point out to you. To be kind, that was not a factually correct statement. Not even close. Diesel Subs are not ancient history. They have an important role in a lot of the world's navies. And not third world ones.
