Mayor Bloomberg of New York has his empire in a blind trust, doesn’t he?
Real estate (Trump's empire) is a totally different animal than an investment fund empire. Trump is successful because he is on top of all his properties every minute of every day. Bloomberg can just leave his billions invested in the stock market and make money.
In Donald's case, a blind trust would involve liquidating all his assets and having somebody else invest the proceeds for him.
Is that something that sounds like sound financial planning to you?
