another ad hominem ......

i smashed the remote with a hammer 5 & 1/2 yrs ago.

You really don’t have to have a “tv” to watch Beck.

The internet is a great source of news ,too.

If your comments are personal attack on me as one of few lone, underground conservatives here in very liberal Vermont; I personally think you should applaud me for my view on Beck.

No one likes to see a man who needs an AA meeting like “ right now”or one who is losing his sight because of his diet soda intake and I personally don’t like it when a man cries “on tv”.

I’m also sure he’s got enough money for his own production company to air his viewpoints. You must remember he’s done a great job in connecting the dots on many issues and this is my opinion.

The show is being dropped because of low ratings.

Ever look at the ratings? Gimme a break.

I don’t think Beck was dropped. He’s still got great numbers.

My guess is that Beck is a risk taker. Everything about him that I’ve seen says he doesn’t like to do the same thing for a long time. He’s had lots of change up formats.

“The Blaze” seems to be really taking off. I think he has something new in mind.

Never fails, it's weenies like you who have an opinion on everything, but knowledge of nothing.
If you haven't watched in years it's only because what Beck had been saying was beyond your pea-brain's ability to comprehend.
Keep trying real hard though, a GED for you is a hell of a goal. And who knows, maybe someday you'll get out of your parent's basement

Bauder is the television writer for the Associated Press; the Star Advertiser simply carriers his stuff as it does other “product” from the wire service.

But Mr. Bauder is no journalist; he’s merely a stenographer for mainstream media outlets. Earlier this week, he ran an article on Katie Couric’s departure from the CBS Evening News. His central thesis? That Couric’s rock-bottom ratings are the result of CBS’s loss of affiliates in key cities, and the poor performance of local newscasts on stations owned by the networks. According to Bauder, that put her at a big disadvantage in the evening news wars, creating a ratings gap that was impossible to overcome.

What a load of BS. During the 80s and 90s, when local stations were being sold left and right, and affiliations changed in many cities, all of the networks were affected. ABC, for example, lost its long-time affiliates in Memphis, New Orleans and St Louis, but it still manages to remain in second place in network news. And, the performance of some CBS-owned stations has actually improved in recent years, so you can’t say the meager audience for the Evening News is the fault of local stations like WCBS and KCBS.

The entire article was nothing more than an exercise in excuse-making for the Perky One. Bottom line: Couric didn’t have what it took to attract a significant audience at the dinner hour, and she’s likely to fail as an afternoon talk show host (supposedly her next venture). Daytime TV is far more cutthroat than the network news wars. She’ll have six months to prove that her show can attract an audience, or she’ll be unemployed again.

Meanwhile, Beck walks away from an enormously successful cable news show—on his own terms—and he’s been “dropped” from the network. One sure sign that Beck wasn’t “fired?” One of Roger Ailes’s top lieutenants, Joel Cheatwood, has joined Beck’s company (Mercury) as an executive VP, and primary liaison to Fox News. Cheatwood was former VP of development at Fox. I’m guessing that Cheatwood’s salary is still being paid by Fox and his new role is to create new programming for Beck. The deal will also give Fox first crack at anything Glenn develops on his own, and (effectively) prevents him from jumping to another network, or selling his TV content elsewhere.

Believe me, if anyone was “pushed” out of a network chair this week, it was Katie Couric, not Glenn Beck.

"Frankly, I hope he does not go away. In a nation that has been badly dumbed-down, a voice that tries to educate the people is badly needed."

I agree, but as I age (63), I must recognize my own mortality and inability to be effective in ways that I was before.

I've recently accepted this 'theory/attitude' about many men in this historical time.

We seem to be outnumbered with few wordsmiths being allowed a voice.

I met Glenn (via listening to the radio) during the Terry Schiavo days and loved him immediately for his public and vocal stand for this poor woman and against the scumbag that initiated and subsequently murdered her.

I was equally impressed with the lack of power in saving her life.

I think THAT was the berginning of my developing a 'will to kill' patriotism that was not so much part of an intellectual endeavor but for frustration, a matter of survival.

I've recently begun to close my posts with ...

WOLVERINES !!!

On most days I do like his show, and I credit him directly for many of the American History books in my den’s library which he recommended. But I do have to admit, the show has the worse advertisers in television history. The “I’m 70 years old, can you believe it?” ad is like sitting through a root canal. And now a new ad, the charity for elderly Russian Jews. If that is a reputable charity, I have nothing against it, but the ad it self is horrible. I’m not sure If advertizing dollars was a reason for the show ending. I hope it’s not. I hope he is going on to bigger and better things.
I’ll miss getting home from work just in time for his show. Oh and I’ll miss Kelly Evans the cute Wall Street Journal girl giving the WSJ update at the end of the show.

He’s the only show I Tivo. He is a bit depressing but the truth sometimes is. He has to be exhausted and ready to make a change.

So as long as FNC isn’t as far left as MSNBC and CNN then we should support them?

I don't remember implying that anybody should or should not support Fox News. I merely stated that it's center and not right.

I wish there were a right wing network.

The “journalist” who wrote this is full of crap. The show is not being dropped because of the boycott. The show is being dropped because of low ratings. Period.

Low ratings?

Somebody if full of crap.

Beck has been averaging over 2.2 million viewers which is more than double msnbc, cnn and hln combined, in that time slot.

Beck is 3# on FOX behind only BOR and Sean and Beck is not in prime time, his TV show is during drive time.

Low ratings, get some facts because if you are recovering, you still act like a real demonRAT, just write an opinion and claim it is a fact.

When they start their article with a lie the “News media” expose themselves for the total intellectual frauds they are.

Here are the current ratings. Beck show is far from “sinking”

I know it was not your quote.

I still think a Michael Savage would be more of a target by liberals than Glenn Bick. They also have Mike Gallagher on WOR.

I’m listening to Glenn Beck right now and he’s talking about Glenn Beck again. We have a budget crisis in DC and Beck is not talking about it.

Even though I support Glenn Beck’s approach and his TV show because I think it’s important for independents and democrats to watch and learn I personally cannot listen. It’s too much about him and not enough about current events.

And when it is about current events there’s somehow a “coast to coast” conspiracy theory connected to it (which is good and interesting) but I’m more the type that wants to somehow fix whatever the crisis is or stop it and not hear about the end of the world.

I agree with you on Trump not needing FOX

If he is sincere about running for prez

then he shouldn’t do the show.

I like Glenn Beck but he is not a poltical pundit which is why I watch FoxNews and listen to AM radio. It's like this... During the oil crisis Obama tells us to inflate our tires. We don't want to hear that as the solution. When there's a political crisis and we listen to AM radio or FoxNews, we don't want someone like Glenn Beck to tell us to pray for our souls as a solution. We want to hear a politcal solution, not a spiritual one. Glenn Beck does good for on what he does but perhaps it should be done on Sunday mornings or maybe Jan and paul will give him a spot on the Trinity Broadcasting Network.

He spent quite a bit of time with Paul Ryan the other day...

It’s too much about him and not enough about current events.

You mean like Rush? Like Hannity? Like O'Reilly?

Bottom line...when you criticize Beck; you enable his enemies. You encourage division, not unity. If you don't like Beck, fine. Don't listen.

Sorry, we are in a spirtual war as much or more so than a politcal one. Funny how the libs don’t leave their religion at the door when they enter the fight but we are supposed to?
