"If you're complaining about the price of gas and you're only getting 8 miles a gallon, you know," Obama said laughingly. "You might want to think about a trade-in."
(Excerpt) Read more at finance.yahoo.com ...
when do you think the last time he actually paid for gas was? I don’t think he’s done it since his inauguration. Why would he? Tax dollars take care of all his transportation. He’s chuaffered or driven everywhere.
If this was a Republican the media would be all over how out of touch he is, but he’ll get a pass on this as always.
I despise that SOB!! HATE HIM!!!
Ya, go out and buy a hybrid and then figure out how long it will take to pay it off with gas savings. Typical government thinking-save money by spending it.
Serious question: has he ever filled a tank of gas?
His union thugs kicking taxpayers in the knees while demanding their tax dollars as they fuel their vehicles with windmills and he campaigns for their votes (Obama's insane legacy in a nutshell).
No, no, no...based on Mark Levin’s analysis, it will be bicycles for all...LOL
And he exempted HIS SUV from EPA air standards!
...and let me add one more thing: Let them eat cake!
Madame DeFarge...paging Madame Defarge....Madame DeFarge to the white courtesy phone...
Remember how the F’in mediaWHORES made a big deal over Bush not knowing how much a gallon of milk was?....I HATE THE FREAKIN demonic MEDIA!
I have a paid for 2000 Ford Expedition. Drive 5 miles to work. That plus around down I fill up around twice a month. Gas will need to more than double from the current price before gas will be cheaper than payments.
Every time I fill up my tank I think about a mere 10-12 years ago when gas hovered around .99 cents for awhile. Those were the days.
Gotcha, thanks for the assist. I didn’t see her byline.
This man is breathtakingly stupid.....................
Trade in for what? Many decent used cars were destroyed in the “Cash for Clunkers” fiasco.
According to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics (http://www.bts.gov/publications/national_transportation_statistics/html/table_04_23.html), the average passenger car in 1980 (31 years ago) was 16 mpg.
Where is this moron pulling “8 miles per gallon” from? Even the orignal Hummer got about 9.6 mpg if I remember correctly.
Article title:
‘Obama says little short-term help for gas prices”
Of course not.
At least not during HIS tenure.
Everything he’s done relative to energy policy has done nothing but push prices upward, either by intent or by default.
By halting offshore production and putting the brakes on onshore development, how else would the world market (of which the USA is a part) react? When supplies (even as-yet-undeveloped but still _potential_ supplies) contract, prices rise. (ASIDE: a lot of short memories here, but just when in 2008, the last time prices hit $4 a gallon, did they start coming back down?)
I would expect prices to easily rise towards $5 a gallon this year, possibly even higher by next year, particularly if the situation in the Mideast continues to deteriorate.
Dick Morris might be right. But then, at the rate the Republicans in Congress are going, they may have lost the ship well before then!
Why yes, don’t you remember Michelle saying something like: “Why, Barack could be shot at some gas station...” when the campaign was going on...bemoaning the straits of a black man in Chicago...
So pracitical in Houston and Los Angeles freeway traffic!
