My home is 154 miles from the west entrance to
Yellowstone. In past years, I’ve purchased an
annual pass for all national parks and visited
Yellowstone every two weeks from mid April to
September. The last two years I paid $80 for a
pass, but could only visit one time for a few
hours due to work obligations in San Diego. I
haven’t purchased my pass this year. It appears
Obama wants to take my money and lock the
park. To paraphrase Charlie Sheen...too bad
sucker...I’m keeping my money.
Remember how the Lamestream eviscerated GHWB for asking about a laser scanner at a market just to make small talk with the checker?
OR...... They coujld turn over Management of the Parks to Private entities. Just an idea.
This is a president???? He sounds like a twelve year old being forced to do his homework.
OH, NO! Not Yellowstone! /s
Who has time & money to vacation this time of year anyway, Obama, you dumb*ss, besides YOU (on the taxpayer’s dime).
Who can afford to drive to Jellystone anyway?
The local Kroger store just had a smokin’ deal on cases of beans and 4packs of toilet paper. We stocked up.
I believe our family is now prepared for a govt shutdown. Rock and roll.
I guess the government will just have sell Yellowstone off to the logging industry. ...oh well...
Memories...

From Senior White House Correspondent Wolf Blitzer
WASHINGTON (CNN) — On the third day of a new partial government shutdown, some federal workers were being sent home and President Clinton vetoed Republican-passed spending bills covering several cabinet-level agencies. Clinton objects to provisions in the measures that include aspects of the Republican legislative platform The measures would have provided funding for the Veterans Administration, the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Interior Department and the Environmental Protection Agency.
The roads are slated to open on April 15th (weather permitting).
The Park has two seasons:
Summer - auto travel
Winter - snowmobile and snow coach travel
It's closed between seasons:

Additionally, the facilities are currently closed:

WE NEED TO TAKE OBAMA TO TASK ON THIS!
The Dims know only a few old songs, and this is one of them.
They’re playing it out of tune this time.
Better idea.........leave Yellowstone open and shut down D.C.
One would think that our National Park system could easily make a profit if it was managed efficiently.
A little off topic, but haven't had many articles lately, so a couple thoughts and an anecdote from someone who's advice carries no wieght, the community organizer likely never having spent a night outdoors.
Get your money back from who? If you're driving through, you pay when you enter. If the "park" is closed, and I'm sure to aggravate people they'll shut down most , they won't shut down the US highways. And I seriously doubt the fee booths will be open.
The hotels, private contractors, I can't imagine they'll be closed.
The backcountry, or even non or semi developed attractions? Who knows, the bears will be working, both indigineous and those looking for speeders, but I'd call first to see what's "closed" as opposed to actually off limits.
Last time the government shut down I was backpacking in the SW for a week with one of my kids. A couple of National Monuments rather than a high profile park. But it wasn't much of an issue. Facilities were closed, but thanks to advance calls I was told it was my country and I could do as I please. At one site I was told where to park my car and where the fence was "broken" (no, this time wasn't on the border with Mexico) and I could enter.
Don't take my word for it, check ahead as to what you can do and where you can go.
But don't take Barry's either.
Joe the Biden was there last year, I think the Kansas City Fed held a meeting there last year, my guess you can find things to do.
Since we're on the topic, why are fees charge at National Parks, Monuments, et al everywhere EXCEPT DC?
Oh Dear! There goes My Little Pony... again
Hmm, if the government is shut down, who is going to stop me from going into Yellowstone?
