Now that is just plain old mean. What's next? Grandma starves, no school lunches?

Will Moochelle’s next vacation be cancelled if there’s a government shutdown? If so, I say go for the shutdown. Incidentally, I was just recently in the DC area and the blossoms have been out for a couple weeks. Out early this year.

Eh - with the storms the other day, there are few blossoms left.

It does kinda suck for timing. There are a ton of tourists in town and soon they’ll have nothing to do.

I expect the Spy Museum will be packed.

How will the nation survive without the Cherry Blossom Parade? I had to check to see if this was a parody, but the msm IS a parody.

The trees will still bloom and idiot tourists will still jay-walk across Constitution Ave in rush hour traffic just to gawk at the pink tree. Shutting down the parade won’t affect the tourism boom associated with the cherry blossoms.

My wife and I visited DC for the Cherry Blossom festival in 2009. It was my first trip to DC. Other than seeing Arlington I don’t care if I never set foot in DC again for the rest of my life.

“...The National Cherry Blossom Parade may not take place if there is a government shutdown, the Obama administration cautioned Wednesday...”

Cautioned???

I’m glad Barry is all over this pressing Cherry Blossom issue with his caution. Thank goodness for such leadership during such a major Cherry Blossom crisis. This is a parade afterall, with ya know, Cherry Blossoms. How will America EVER survive if a crucial Cherry Blossom Parade doesn’t happen??? Call your the White House switchboard! Call your Senator! Call your horticulturist! OH THE HUMANITY!!!!

Who cares!? Mt Vernon will be open for anybody who wants true American history. Not that revisionist BS but the real thing! Mt Vernon gets NO federal funding and is open 365 days.

I always thought that the Cherry Blossom Festival was sponsored by the District.

Well cool. We’ve found something else to cut. DC can pick up the tab if they want it so bad.
