Pastor Terry Jones inspires fear, sadness among local Muslims

For Imam Muhammad Musri, watching the mobs in Afghanistan incited to violence last Friday by the burning of a Quran by Gainesville Pastor Terry Jones was like a nightmare come true. He feared it, he foresaw it, he felt helpless to prevent it.

This is what Musri thought he had prevented last fall when he persuaded Jones to drop his plans to burn the holy book of Islam on the anniversary of 9/11. Instead, it was just a delayed reaction when angered Afghans overran U.N. offices and killed seven civilians.

"Muslims are outraged, but there is nothing we can do. We fully understand who Terry Jones is. This guy is a nut job," said Musri, president of the Islamic Society of Central Florida.

Orlando's Muslim community felt sadness, helplessness and fear while watching from afar as extremists on both sides, Christian and Islam, put their worst behavior on display to confirm their worst opinions of each other. While Central Florida Muslims felt the Afghan mobs no more represented Islam than Jones represented Christianity, they worried about becoming victims of retaliation by Christian extremists.

"There was a great deal of fear that it might cause a backlash here. There is too much hatred in the air," Musri said.

Perhaps the Lord has given Pastor Jones the green light to do this in order to expose the lies that our leaders are spouting to placate this blood cult?

It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome."

Is this not as true today as it was 100 years ago? I wonder what Winston Churchill would say?

I don't know much about Pastor Terry Jones (and his doctrine), however here is an honest question:

Doesn't burning a Koran seem insignificant compared to what Gideon, Asa, Elijah, Jehu, and many other men of the Bible did to expose idolatry in their times?

The Koran is a demonically inspired (ask Salmon Rushdie) death cult guide that has plunged the world into submission or dhimminitude. No other book deserves a good burning as the Koran does...(but then again, I am not politically correct ;-))

In tourist rich Orlando with the theme parks there I would be very suspicious of any Muslim group. Personally I do hope Muslims are living in fear, maybe they are just now realizing that America isn't like any other country that its the one that was founded by religious extremists escaping oppression. Burning a book is the "worst" a Christian does. Murdering in the name of their god is the worst that Mohammedans do. There is a difference between the two "worsts."

I have been on several threads about this preacher. I am amazed at how many conservative freepers don’t stand up for freedom of speech when the rubber hits the road....It seems that some are only interested in freedom of speech that they approve of.....its been an eye opener...

In the end, Mr. Jones did not even burn the snuff tale. As I recall, he got calls from every fascist in the country warning him not to burn that trash.
