Hillary Clinton would make a formidable 2012 presidential opponent running against any of the current crop of likely GOP candidates. Maybe that's why so many of them are keeping their powder dry, so far. They're waiting to see what she does.
Political intelligence can be, like military intelligence, an oxymoron. (This I learned in both venues.) The two crafts are not dissimilar. Each collects and examines shards of possible evidence; rates the veracity of each piece; searches for connections; tests each against an unfiltered range of suppositions; sprinkles in magic dust made from the ground-up intuitive glands of a dozen woolly worms; and then glues together a propositional urn that, they hope, holds water. But, all too often, it holds nothing. Think WMD's in Iraq.
With that avowal in place, imagine the world turning toward a Democratic Party 2012 presidential primary where Hillary Clinton challenges Barack Obama, one more time.
A September 10, 2010, American Thinker article entitled "Hillary Clinton's Campaign for '12 Is Underway" posited that "Hillary's campaign for the Democrat nomination for president in 2012 began last June 8 [2010], when, during an interview with an Ecuadorean television reporter, she announced the Department of Justice's plan to bring a lawsuit against Arizona's immigration act." Lately, signs have surfaced to keep that notion alive.
First, though, let's review Hillary's stated plans beyond the office of Secretary of State (SoS). On December 3, 2010, according to Reuters, she said,
"I think I'll serve as secretary of state as my last public position and then probably go back to advocacy work, particularly on behalf of women and children."
William Tecumseh Sherman once said he'd rather spend four year in prison than four in the White House. But that was just Uncle Billy being candid.

The question is, rather, “Is a 2012 Clinton 45 Win Inevitable?””
I fear, the answer is, “Yes”.
BS, she couldn’t beat Bozo, why in the he** would she be able to beat Palin or Bachman?
And to add to that, Bozo is running for a second term as a Dem, is she going to run as an independent?
author is being too smart by half
I think if the Dems were going to capsize the SS Obama, you would have seen many mores wave by now. With his announcement this week, he is out in front for all the big donors.
Changing tagline. . .
I still think it will happen. A serious double dip downturn in the economy, and a pseudo moderate Hildabeast comes to the rescue (gag)
she would not run against Obama...
no serious democratic contender would. And risk alienating the minority vote during the general?
ther has got to be more than these same ol same ol’s to run for offices
this is not england
“BS, she couldnt beat Bozo...”
You’re presupposing that Obama really wants to run in 2012. A normal person would say: “Of course, all politicians love power”. However, Obama is a lot different - he’s trained to “Sacrifice for the Revolution”, as one of his mentors (Karl Marx) would have said. And what better way to sacrifice than to step down, or allow himself to be beaten (either way), but wind up with what he knows is a MUCH STRONGER candidate on the 2012 ticket.
I made that prediction one month ago, right after Bill said that Obama was crazy for not allow Gulf drilling. I have seen NOTHING that makes me think otherwise.
2012 will be Hillary versus some Republican - not sure who though.
Pretty much, yeah.
Allow himself to be beaten? There will be no primary, Bozo has already filed his papers to run, so how could he "let himself be beaten". As for him stepping down, he will not do that because his monstrous ego won't let him. Hillary would have to run on a third party ticket, which would be great for us, but it is not going to happen, she knows she couldn't win like that. The only reason she might run as a third party candidate would be to stick it to Bozo, but she doesn't want to do that either.
I predict that unless Bozo is injured in some way, or(impossible as it sounds)is impeached and removed from office, Hillary will not run.
I have no doubt Hillary still has plenty of ambition. But I don’t think she’ll challenge, because she’s realistic about her chances at this point of unseating a sitting president in the primaries.
I hate to say it, but, barring a second major downturn in the economy before the 2012 elections, Obama is probably going to be in a fairly strong position for re-election. He’ll be beatable, by the right GOP candidate and platform. But I think it will be a tough fight, and the 1980-esque landslide we’d all like to see is highly unlikely, IMHO.
I despise and have always despised Hillary Clinton...but she doesn’t scare me more than Obama.
THIS is exactly what is wrong with the GOP. After all of this time, a worn out hag like HRC can still beat our best and brightest...
LOL. One of us will be right...but I look at Obama as the ultra-perfect Marxist...and for that, he will sacrifice power.
As to filing, he had no choice right now.
But the hard part will be convincing his base that he’s ok with Hillary taking over - that may be difficult for them to understand.
Once Obama resigns to take the UN SecGen position, having placed Hillary in the VP slot - she’d skate into the nomination & victory. Yes, the American electorate is just that foolish.
I’ve always thought the UN was what really interested 0.
The way Bubba stole Zer0’s thunder at that presser a few months ago was surely not lost on the Clintoons either.
The WI Supreme Court election yesterday-—outcome still in doubt-—really confirms the notion of the “foolish” American voting public.
