The only reason you take that as an insult is that it makes it clear that you are more worried about Republicans winning elections than the country surviving as a free republic. Clarity is not an insult unless what it makes clear is obviously to be insulted.
If you were more worried about the country, you would figure out what needs to be done and stand behind it. “It” is certainly not Ryan’s plan.
