I called Trump last Friday to see if he would back off his claim that the president of the United States might be constitutionally prohibited from holding his office.
Im not finished with that issue by any stretch of the imagination, Trump told me. You mock me for that, but his own grandmother says he was born in Kenya and says she was there.
The New York real estate mogul didnt stop with questions about the birth certificate. Trump also claimed the presidents first book was ghostwritten by a domestic terrorist.

Believe them if you want.
Same tune you guys have been playing for 30 years, and where has that got us?
“He is pro abortion and pro gay marriage. Game over.”
Game NOT over. I take him at his word, which he voiced at CPAC and has since in more interviews - he’s pro-life, against gun control and against gay marriage.
And if he’s not conservative enough to “pass our test”?
He’s got the guts to loudly speak the truths that need saying and keep repeating them, in no uncertain terms - like serious questions on BHO’s eligibility, his bowing to our enemies while pissing on our friends and more. Having more first-hand experience with both China and the Saudis than any of our politicians, DT would go head to head with them.
It’s pitiful that I see NONE of this from any of our “good, pure” conservatives. Herman Cain comes close, but a) I don’t know if even he would touch the BC issue, and b) sadly, he doesn’t have anywhere near the public credibility that Trump has.
We need an alpha leader who can get Obama out. I hope he’s not just doing it for Hillary, because I believe him when he says he’s angry about what’s been done to this country and where it’s been led.
He’s also not a treasonous, Marxist, anti-semitic radical who hates America. He knows it’s been very, very good to him, and his ego (if nothing else) wants to see us respected in the world once more.
“Hes also not a treasonous, Marxist, anti-semitic radical who hates America. He knows its been very, very good to him, and his ego (if nothing else) wants to see us respected in the world once more.”
This is true. However, I am still not convinced he is pro-life, anti gay marriage. I don’t care if he said it on O’Reilly. I want him to come out on CNN, MSNBC and the networks and say he is a Conservative.
Then I will believe him.
I like the cut of Trumps jib.
Big Boo Boo, that has to be the dumbest statement I have ever seen on FreeRepublic. </Definitely not sarcasm>
I'm not one of them "you guys". I always put those social issues at the top of the list any other election year.
You don't think the status of this economy will be the primary issue this time around?
What good is being pro-life or pro-abortion in a nation where you can't even afford to rent a room at the local motel for a night?
Well, somebody should tell Sarah to stop using the term "Reagan Conservative", right?
I’m not a big fan of The Donald...but I love what he is doing to that fraud mongrel in the WH...
OK, that's hyperbole...for now. I can scarcely believe I'm saying this about the United States of America.
But remember, we can still look for those candidates in congressional elections... hopefully we will win the Senate and also win more seats in Congress. There we can still focus on those issues.
Well said.
The Federal Congress is important precisely because of the weak field of Presidential candidates. The Congress must be more of a Tea Party organization to insulate us against whoever becomes President. Right now it doesn't look as though people like Palin, Bachman, et al are going to make it to the White House. Now, anything can happen. I'd love to see Sarah rocket to a commanding lead in the polls. At the moment, however, Trump is the only one who looks like a rising star. He is potentially a very strong horse. He could unite a very powerful core of constituencies. He could do this and simultaneously undermine Zero's crucial union support by promising to impose tariffs on imports. If he makes the right noises, he could get a lot of the moral majority type voters who are willing to believe anything. There's the old "Reagan Dem" segment of the electorate, too. It's strange: in many ways it's as if the old Pat Buchanan coalition could merge with the old Reagan coalition.
Regarding the social issues, I am not as skeptical as some here. I do think that the Donald's "up-close-and-personal" encounters with Rosie O'Donnell and Perez Hilton have given him a genuine revulsion against the homosexual agenda. Whatever he has said publicly, I believe these encounters have aroused in him the "manly man's" natural disgust for homosexualism. His newest child (and new grandchildren) seem to have given him an appreciation of the life issues. Not that he will suddenly start quoting St Paul like a fundamentalist would, or start lecturing us on natural law like a Catholic theologian. I just think that he has experienced in some visceral way that these issues deserve more consideration. Is he opportunistic? Of course he is. But does his move toward pro-life and traditional marriage parallel the thoughts of many in modern America? I think it does. His statements on these points could well ring a chord in the minds of many people.
Anyway, this is all conjecture. We have a long way to go. A Tea Party congress is a necessity, no matter who wins the Presidential election.
Amen to that. But I do consider the Tea Party agenda as a big part of the economic issue too. Hopefully, whoever the Presidential nominee is, they will embrace the Tea Party platform.
zot
We certainly do not want to make it the major issue of the campaign. There are so many other issues that need to be focused on.
Right now, it's ok but as we get closer to the Primaries we will have to move on to other things.
If Obama is not legit, that needs to be taken care of now. And should have been taken care of 2 years ago.
jes saying....

It’s a losing issue to Barack Obama.
