That’s nowhere near enough.

That’s a start. Next year, additional cuts can be made.

It’s not enough, but it’s something. Far, far more than anything the ‘Rat Party is willing to do.

Totally inadequate.

Drudge has a headline: In March, the feds spent 8X their revenue. They spent $1T in one month.

Cut $5T? Over 10 years?? Hey, guess what? I've racked up $50,000 in credit card bills! But don't worry -- I've got a plan to drastically reduce my out of control spending: I've decided not to go to Starbucks on the first Monday of every month! Think of the money I'll save!!!

Too little too late.

Did you know the gubment spent 1 TRILLION dollars in March. In one freakin' month they spent 8 times what they took in. We are doomed, there is no way out of this.

First you start with defunding Obamacare then carry on from there.

Our side is about to get pummeled for these huge cuts and changes to the entitlements. This call for ‘not enough’ is pretty bad. I am all for being bold, and this is bold. We control the House. We will earn the Senate and White House if we prove to present a realistic solution to our problems. From what I have seen from Ryan, this is a huge step in the right direction. Unless we see something otherwise on the unveiling, our side needs to stick together and focus our attention on educating others on the situation and the fact that our side is the only one presenting a response that prevents our country from crumbling.

I have been annoyed at the weakness of the House leadership so far with the timid cuts and lack of a big message. I like what I am seeing so far. Remember, this is just the beginning of the process for the 2012 single year budget, but a blueprint for the next ten. There is plenty of opportunity to build on it if we are successful here.

I want to know what it cuts this year. These ten year time frames are political smoke and mirrors.

Any politician can promise to cut the budget by any number you want in ten years. The fact is that this Congress cannot bind the Congress in ten years.

These guys need to be forced to explain how much they will be cutting from this next year's budget, the only budget they control. These guys are talking about ten years from now to disguise the fact that they aren't signigicantly cutting the budget this year or next. And, this year and next are the only budgets that they can cut.

Republican government hacks unveiled a ten year budget plan?

In ten years these AH's will be on their yachts in the Caribbean, laughing their butts off while collecting multiple lottery style government pensions...How stupid are we?

And where do they get this word, "Unveiled"? Is this some kind of holy document sent here by supreme government angels?

WTH is that all about? Why would it take TEN YEARS to eliminate 2 million bloated government employees?

Obama has us in IMF 3rd world status giving the USA financial advice....

IMF:We find that, under our baseline scenario, a full elimination of the fiscal and generational imbalances would require all taxes to go up and all transfers to be cut immediately and permanently by 35 percent. A delay in the adjustment makes it more costly.”

Numerically, It’s probably not enough by itself. More cuts will need to be implemented to arrest 40 years of democrat/RINO control of America’s pursestrings.

HOWEVER... $5.8 trillion/10 is $580,000,000,0000/year, which is nearly a 600% increase over the $100B in proposed cuts for the 2011 budget.

It’s a great place to start.

I HATE and DETEST any government schmuck who talks about a ten year horizon. Nobody ever remembers, nobody ever checks, and, most especially, NOBODY is HELD TO ACCOUNT. The only thing that matters now, the ONLY thing, is 2012 budget. It ought to be slashed by $2 trillion, entire departments abolished, and about a million federal “workers” given the boot. Those cuts would get the country back on track in not time and make us globally competitive once again.

Once they start talking 10 year horizons, we are doomed to infantile discussions and no action.

I’m more interested what they’re planning to cut the next couple of years. We need to cut the deficit at least by half right now to restore a smidge of confidence in the world financial markets.

There are hundreds of billions budgeted, allocated, but not spent. That needs rolled back. We need to take serious steps about fraud in Medicare, SS, welfare and other entitlements. We need to defund Obamacare and the rest of the stimulus plus any other crap spending Obama got passed. Though it’s small change, we need to strictly limit the regulatory agencies ability to target business and particularly small business by tightening their budget.

I really hope these budget cuts will hit on multiple fronts, and then we build from there.
