A legendary New York City high school basketball coach was sentenced to five years of probation today after pleading guilty to charges he sexually molested a 14-year-old boy while at a Boston hotel in 1976 for a Red Sox - Yankees game.

Robert Oliva, center, pleads guilty at Suffolk Superior Court to having sexually assaulted a boy, then 14, during a trip to Boston in 1976. His attorney Michael Doolin is pictured at left.
If only coaches were allowed to marry, then this would NEVER happen......
Oh, let’s not be too hard on the guy, I think that he was just trying to demonstrate a “post up” to the kid.
Obviously no statute of limitations on these types of offenses. The old boy probably thought he was home free after 35 years.

The perverts are achieving EEOP status in many states and through Federal legislation. This will mean one cannot keep them from teaching kids. Talk about putting pigs in clover. The coalition now that it has achieved positions of authority is rewarding one of its member groups.
“Obviously no statute of limitations on these types of offenses.
Every state has different rules, I guess, but it always appalled me that, as I understand it, the statute of limitations had expired on Bill Clinton’s rape of Juanita Broaddrick two decades earlier. Apart from the fact he should have been removed from office for his FELONY, the fact that he never was held accountable by the legal system for a rape always struck me as unconscionable.
I think the myth that marriage prevents a lot of sexual perversion is...just a myth.
Was this jerk married? When the perverts are married with kids, they are also victims.
The ones who are real sickos are the couples who together molest children.
If he had sexually assaulted a girl, would he be getting probation? Or is it just that we don’t want to punish the poor guy for being gay?
no he was not married.
I think that the silent victims (all male) who testified shook to plead guilty. There is a chance that there are more skeletons in this man’s closet and he saw it was all over. Fighting it would only make it worse for him.
The string of article for this case goes back about 3 years.
There were victims mentioned who did not even press charges. They withdrew their pressure once the coach resigned.
