Businessman and "Apprentice" television star Donald Trump blasted President George Bush today, calling him "probably the worst president in the history of the United States," and blaming his 2004 victory on the Democrat ticket. Appearing on CNN's "Situation Room," Trump was asked by host Wolfe Blitzer his opinion of Democrat presidential candidate John Edwards. "I don't know him," Trump answered. "People like him. I know people that like him very much, but I really don't know him." Trump went on to say that Edward's experience as John Kerry's 2004 running mate was a negative in his estimation. "Well, I think that's a huge negative, because that was a shame that that race was lost, because look what we have right now," Trump said. "It's a disaster. So, you know, I would probably be inclined not to like him on the basis that he lost an election that should have been won. That election should have been won." Trump noted that the blame fell on Kerry as well. "He's a friend of mine. But I'm so upset that he blew it," he said. "I think Bush is probably the worst president in the history of the United States. And I just don't understand how they could have lost that election." The entire transcript of Trump's interview with Blitzer can be read here.Trump: Bush probably worst U.S. president

OK so where are all the “real” conservatives? Hiding under their desks?
Trump is a true looney is he believes Carter and obamma are better presidents than Bush!
Bush is safe. LBJ already meets all requirements.
Well these statements should dispel all doubt about how big a village idiot “The Donald” really is.
Better to keep one’s mouth shut and be thought a fool, rather than to speak and remove all doubt there, The Donald.
Bush’s eight years had more mistakes than Obama’s two. The handling of Katrina was a nightmarish bungle. “Brownie,” anyone? No Child Left Behind. The list goes on and on.
Now, if Obama had eight years, he’d probably have MORE mistakes than Bush at his current rate.
Yep. And we’re supposed to bash Glenn Beck for thinking this wighead is a phony baloney. Which he is. Don’t be tools for this egomaniacal assclown.
I have a theory that Trump’s newfound conservatism is really an attempt to divide conservatives a la Perot in order to help Obama. Just saying ...
As I’ve said previously. I won’t vote for Trump, but I’m cheering him on like hellfire in his personal crusade to find Obama’s birth certificate.
If you look at Trump’s political contributions record, you’ll find that he has donated to every sleazebag in office.
Trump is a populist. And when I say populist, it means he’s saying whatever he thinks will make him popular.
If the Rug is a “conservative republican”, then I am a SEIU, ACORN supporter.
I’ll wait to see if he runs and what his issues are.. Fact is Trump is more of a Conservative on more than a few major issues that Bush was/is
I agree with your point, Bush was a very crappy president but Trump jumping on the Obama-stimulus band-wagon in early 2009 shows he is hardly what we are looking for. He was for TARP too.
geez would somebode please get this walking carpet (rug) out of the way before he screws things up for 2012?
Yep. He is Perot. And even more annoying.
>> And we’re supposed to believe this guy is a conservative republican?
Trump is a loudmouth blowbag. Trump serves Trump only, and no particular ideology or principle. He’d call himself a Rastafarian if he thought it would play well in Peoria.
Still it’s fun to watch him beat Odumbo about the head and shoulders with the BC thing. I wish him great success in that endeavor. But POTUS? No way.
Considering Bush turned out to not be that much of a conservative, this isn’t a good way to start an argument.
If you dig deeper, Trump also liked Reagan and didn’t like Carter that much, but says Carter is a better ex-President than he was a President (arguable, but nowhere near as bad as saying he was a “good” President).
He still voted for, and contributed to Bush. He just became disappointed in him as his second term wore on.
I can’t really disagree, but I’d never say he was the “worst president” we’ve had. That’s a bit over the top.
Trump has to prove himself, but I don’t discount him simply due to these comments.
Just the fact that John Kerry ‘is a friend” tells you everything you need to know about Donald Trump. I’m sure he dislikes Obama. Kerry’s bitter rant about how voters are sucked in by “catchy slogans” tells you that Kerry is bitter about Obama’s win. Obviously he thought his Dem voters were too smart for such tricks. That said, the only reason Trump is running as a Republican is because 1) Obama will surely get the Dem ticket next time out and 2) After Obama, this nation will not be feeling friendly toward the Dems.
DING DING DING!
