Underemployment Rises to 20.3% in March
Gallup news ^ | April 1, 2010 | Jenny Marlar

Gallup Daily tracking finds that 20.3% of the U.S. workforce was underemployed in March -- a slight uptick from the relatively flat January and February numbers.

A rise in the percentage of part-timers wanting to work full time (from 9.2% to 9.9%) is responsible for the March increase in underemployment.

All this underemployment is counter balanced by the overemployment in the Oval Office.

Does this account for the drop in unemployment, IE two part time jobs created = two jobs created? From the article, "As unemployed Americans find part-time, temporary, and seasonal work, the official unemployment rate could decline. However, this does not necessarily mean more Americans are working at their desired capacity."

Is this what those borrowed billions got us?

Small business is the job generator in the economy. Large corporations are primarily focused on being more efficient and competitive by doing more with less.

And we’re killing small business in this country.

Like Bush and his predecessors have done for 30 years, I think we should import millions more people, more Muslims, millions more illegal Mexicans....

Oh, and we need to relax our immigration laws, and bring in tens of thousands of other foreigners from India, Asia etc.

Plenty of jobs to go around...Just keep them coming..

Posted the following on that other thread:
The debt chart is meaningless unless it's a ratio to GDP.

also the unemployment rate (IMHO) ought to be calculated as a ratio of total hours that would be worked at full employment to actual hours worked. Don't know if anyones doing that. Perhaps I will.

Another Bush worshiper huh?

Under Bush and those before him, they aided and abetted this epic invasion of millions of illegal low wage worker, supported punitive trade laws, all while the Korporate Kings exported hundreds of thousand of American jobs to low wage Communist countries...Bush made American citizenship all but pointless.

A few years later, millions of American homes are foreclosed and empty, tens of millions of Americans are jobless, our country is crawling with tens of millions of illegal aliens, and hospitals like Dallas Texas Parkland, is pushing out 1000 anchor babies per month.....Every month..

If that isn’t enough, here is a speech of Bush pushing home loans for totally unqualified minorities.

Under Bush and those before him...

Are you putting Reagan in that list?

Read the first 6 words... However, Reagan's intentions were honorable, Bush's were not.

Sorry to dust up your corrupt non-conservative hero.

I did read your first six words. They clearly put Reagan in there. I figured you were using the disastrous 1986 Amnesty as the reasoning. Reagen was using the same reasoning as Bush in doing that. Quickie fix to a huge problem.

I am laughing at your posts to me. I never said I liked Bush or that he was ever a Conservative. I rail against the whole Bush 43 administration whenever I can. My post on this thread was to poke fun at Obummer and his favorite excuse. I figure since you list Reagan as a contributor to the countries ills, you would probably agree with Obummer as well.

Look, look, look. See, see, see. Check what you buy. Read to where your government to government fleece trade deals exported the jobs of the underemployed.

I’d like to see the average dollar value of “new” jobs vs the average dollar value of lost jobs. Of course, we will never see that, because...it’s depressing.
