WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Persistent Federal Reserve critic Representative Ron Paul plans to hold a hearing on the U.S. central bank's emergency loans to the branches of non-U.S. banks, his spokeswoman said on Saturday.
"I was surprised and deeply disturbed ... to learn the staggering amount of money that went to foreign banks," Paul said in a statement.
"These lending activities provided no benefit to American taxpayers, the American economy, or even directly to American banks," he said.

You're constantly whining about the government having to pay the Fed for printing our money. So find a fact for once.
The Fed buys and sells Treasuries when they want to change the money supply. So how much interest did the Fed earn last year on their Treasury holdings? You know, because we have to pay taxes to pay interest on those bonds.
You have got me mixed up with lots of other folk who despise the FED and talk about it in that way.
