SIERRA VISTA A pursuit of a vehicle suspected to be loaded with illegal immigrants was called off after speeds reached upwards of 100 mph on Highway 90, police said.
Officers responding to a report of a load vehicle spotted the Chevrolet Impala as it traveled south near the Sierra Vista Municipal Airport around 2:23 p.m. Thursday, said Tracy Grady, public information officer for the Sierra Vista Police Department.
As many as seven people were inside the car during the pursuit, which was called off for safety reasons, Grady said.
Officers continued to follow the vehicle, however, and it was eventually found abandoned in the 800 block of Yaqui Street.
One person was arrested and turned over to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, she said.

Pursuits would end abruptly if Air National Guard was allowed to be the one to end them. :) An Apache and a well placed missile can do wonders.

What ever happened to those EMP pulse devices the police ‘supposed’ to have had?

What ever happened to those EMP pulse devices the police supposed to have had? Or those gadgets with the "Motorola" logos, for that matter...

If they can shoot the engine in a boat and stop it, why can’t they shoot the engine in a car and stop it? The coast guard does (or at least did) this to stop drug boats.

“What ever happened to those EMP pulse devices the police supposed to have had?”
Probably violates some UN treaty if used against illegals...

Law enforcement needs to get with the program. Both Spider-man and Batman would have just tagged it with a tracking beacon, and they had that tech back in the 60’s. What gives?
To: SandRat
With 7 people in the vehicle, it’s probably using a lot of gas.
They should have continued the chase.

At 100 mph, shoot out a tire, call the street sweeper and garbage pick up truck.
No body bags required, pick up DNA test samples with an eye dropper.
