Unquestionably, that’s true. We can’t let the men off the hook as they are complicit in this problem. Too many men are not responsible for their behavior, and it’s not a good trend for our society. Our modern culture even glorifies some of that behavior. Very bad.
So times haven’t changed. Though the writing is subtle, the predominant theme underpinning this situation is that it is still women’s fault for bad sexual behavior and the decline of the nuclear family. Not the men mind you, but the women.

I think white guys got the message; now they won’t have children even when they’re married, as they have no confidence they won’t just end up maintaining an ex-wife, the children they barely get to see, and some new guy in their former home. In fact, they’ve learned so well they won’t even get married anymore.
