Even the “man on the street” now thinks there is stuff going on in the Fedguv which we could do without and never would be missed.

Hey GOP Leadership - grow a pair and do what we sent you there to do - CUT GOVERNMENT SPENDING - WE ARE BROKE!!!

If you are going to cower at the feet of the RATS and their propaganda machine now, why should we believe you have a chance to cutting TRILLIONS next week when Ryan reveals his 2012 budget? You won't stand a chance going up against the likes of Schmucky Schumer and Obozo and their 24x7 propaganda machine. SPEAK TO THE AMIERCAN PUBLIC instead of hiding under your desks. Sure eyes glaze over when you try to describe the Continuing Resolution process but trust me every American family knows what has to be done when all their credit cards are maxed out and the bank ups the monthly payment requirement. EVERY AMERICAN except those riding in the wagon.

Well, as I remarked on another forum, there goes the GOP Establishment’s last figleaf.

Often, when problems become too unfixable, people go their own way and it’s time the government shut down for a while and restructure. Then, in time, the government can start running when the real problems are solved; meanwhile the states can function as they should be, as the constitution states they are supposed to.

America has 3 gov'ts.. fed, state and local..
A federal gov't shutdown is NOT A GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN...
It is a federal government shutdown..

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 57% of Likely U.S. Voters think making deeper spending cuts in the federal budget for 2011 is more important than avoiding a partial government shutdown.

As long as the cuts are for thee and not for me, right?

Some State governments are NOT BROKE..
That would be the ones with right to work laws..
Unions loot State goverments and Federal gov't.. making them BROKE eventually..

That 57% is just a bunch of kooks out of touch with the majority of Americans!

We need pragmatic bipartisan consensus building on which programs will be reduced from 12% to a scant 11.5% growth over the past year. That’s real work for the people!

Shut the government down, and leave a lot of it shut down when it reopens. A little downsizing is exactly what the federal monster needs.

Besides the military, borders, air traffic, and beef inspection.....remind me what's critical that you can't do without for a while? Implement rolling shutdowns until they start quitting and finding other jobs on their own volition.

I say: kill the funding .....until weeds start growing in the middle of Pennsylvania Avenue.

I’d be in favor of about 2/3 of all levels of government being shut down permanently. They can start with the [anti-] “family” programs, zoning regulations,...
