5,000 Illegals Voted in Colorado in 2010 in Mid Terms

GOP says 5,000 non-citizens voting in Colorado a 'wake-up call' for states By Debbie Siegelbaum - 03/31/11 01:23 PM ET

Republicans on the House Administration Committee want to shore up voter registration rules in the wake of a Colorado study that found as many as 5,000 non-citizens in the state took part in last year’s election.

Rep. Gregg Harper (R-Miss.), the panel’s chairman, called the study “a disturbing wake-up call” that should cause every state to review its safeguards to prevent illegal voting.

“We simply cannot have an electoral system that allows thousands of non-citizens to violate the law and vote in our elections. We must do more to protect the integrity of our electoral processes,” Harper added.

Colorado Secretary of State Scott Gessler, a Republican, told the panel that his department’s study identified nearly 12,000 people who were not citizens but were still registered to vote in Colorado.

Of those non-citizen registered voters, nearly 5,000 took part in the 2010 general election in which Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet narrowly defeated Republican John Buck.

Colorado conducted the study by comparing the state’s voter registration database with driver’s license records.

“We know we have a problem here. We don’t know the size of it,” Gessler said in testimony to Administration’s Elections subcommittee.

He told Harper that Colorado would look to create a registration system that would allow his department to ask that some people provide proof of their citizenship in writing.

If individuals did not respond to the request, their registration as voters would be suspended.

Rep. Charles Gonzalez (D-Texas) raised doubts about the reporting, noting that the study itself said it was based on inconclusive data and that it was “impossible to provide precise numbers” on how many people who were registered to vote in the state were not citizens.

Gonzalez asked Gessler, a former prosecutor, if he would have pursued a court case on such evidence.

Gessler responded that the goal of the study was to expose voter registration issues and pursue administrative avenues to resolve them.

“We don’t have a screen for citizenship on the front end when people register to vote,” he said.

“With illegals voting in mass numbers across the nation, how can you stop them, short of civil war?

The Dems did this intentionally, and now we are just seeing the consequences of their treachery. The power of the ballot has been diluted to the point to where we may not be able to rectify the situation at the polls......”

Your statements boil down to “Red Badger has given up.” Is that the case?

People who tamper with the election process should be tracked down and killed on the spot, not arrested. Is there anything more damaging to a republic than tampering with the vote? Once the vote is manipulated we might as well go back to open warfare to settle questions of leadership.

And now we have governor chickenlooper and senator Bennett. Granted the republicans shot themselves in the foot, but this would have changed the result in the senate race at least.

The Democrat Party has no problem with disenfranchising those who may disagree with their Governance.

They have no love of American Sovereignty because it does not serve their purpose.

5 thousand votes would not have made a difference when Bennet won by 40,000. Buck is responsible for every unConstitutional and evil vote by Bennett until 2017 for his suicidally stupid opposition to a rape and incest exception in abortion.

Not that this was a ‘surprise’ per a ‘barn door’ left open. But yes, will we now, close it. ..finally, apply common sense to our elections?

No, I haven’t ‘given up’.

But we have a government that doesn’t have a clue, doesn’t care and will not prosecute these acts of treachery.

We have a media elite that will not report, will not investigate and in fact aids the administration in hiding everything that the media should be investigating.

We have a ‘two-party’ system that is essentially a ‘one-party’ rule. Neither party will lift a finger to stop the illegals or limit their incursions. When somebody does submit a bill to do anything about the problem, it disappears into the black hole of committee chair wastebaskets.

The American people have essentially been disenfranchised by their own government, in favor of foreign interests.

Every time I go shopping at Wal-Mart, I see the effects of many years of delinquent legislators and lax law enforcement, the very people who are supposed to, at the very least, protect its own citizens from foreign invasions.

If a government cannot, or will not, provide the very thing that it was supposedly set up to do in the first place, ‘secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity’, then of what use is there in having a ‘government’ that refuses to govern?

Our taxes go to essentially pay interest on the huge public debt hung around our necks like a yoke of bondage, because that is exactly what it is, a yoke. The Bible says the borrower will become slave to the lender, and we are just that, slaves. We who are lucky enough to still be employed are essentially slave to the governments of our foreign debt holders: debt that was piled higher and higher upon our backs by Congress after Congress, no matter which party was in charge of the purse.

We are reaching a breaking point, and when they finally realize what they have wrought through their legislative, fiscal and administrative incompetence or intransigence, we will either fall into years long civil war or we will revert to the third world status of a failed state.

Have I given up? Again, I say no, but having realized the odds of anyone this side of God’s Kingdom actually solving any of our real ‘ man made disasters’ are actually close to nil, then all I can do is watch and pray for Jesus to come soon.............

“Motor Voter has doomed us all.........”

That was their intention, there is a good reason why The original Federal Constitution never granted the Federal goverment any kind of real control over State and local elections.

To centralize that power in Washington only invites inescapable corruption.
