Rethinking Sarah Palin For President
Irish Examiner USA ^ | 3/29/2011 | By Alicia Colon

Although I have written several columns expressing my admiration for Sarah Palin, I admit I have never taken her seriously as a 2012 presidential candidate. I've always felt that her greatest asset was as a kingmaker and behind the scenes advisor. In addition I've assumed that she wasn't that interested in pursuing the job but rather enjoyed making waves in the liberal media. The more I read the continuing attacks on Palin and her family I've started wondering why the Democrats and their media lapdogs fear her so much. Even some conservative pundits have determined that she is unelectable because of her high negatives. Those negatives are actually bogus and based on lies and misinformation and there is really only one word to describe Sarah Palin - indomitable.

Bill Maher played to the lowest common denominator and insinuated that Palin was a "dumb tw**t" and his moronic audience cheered. Ari Fleischer, a former press secretary in the George W. Bush administration, said recently that he couldn't see "any way, shape or form that [Palin] can win" the White House. Naturally there was a Public Policy poll that determined that Democratic and Independent voters would vote for Charlie Sheen over Sarah Palin. The fact that there was even such a poll should indicate the vigorous campaign to minimize her credibility as a serious candidate. Who's paying for these skewered polls anyway?

The anti-Palin campaign stretches to foreign media where Canadian TV columnist John Doyle writes in the Globe and Mail that television forever killed Palin's chances to be president. He writes: "television duly destroyed the Palin authenticity. The arc of her national political career began with a defining speech at the Republican National Convention in September, 2008,

That would be her call. Would I like her to run? You betcha! But I don’t think she’s going to. But no way will I support Romney.

RE :”Is that specific and detailed enough?

NO! If you really believe all that stuff, why are you not demanding that she run in 2012?? Wouldnt that be that her moral and patriotic duty? Do you really have that little faith in her?

Yes, I know how you feel there.

You would have thought that after Bush and McCain disasters Republicans would have learned better. On the bright side it looks like Bachmann will run (hopefully) and if so can hand Romney's head back to him in any debates.

Posting from behind enemy lines at a hotel in Madison, WI.

The Palin detractors have not (at least, the PDS-infected ones have not) posted as detailed a description and/or defense of their preferred candidate as I just did of Sarah.

Why are you moving the goalposts on me?

Cheers!

Preferred candidate?? You write like you heard her announce her candidacy. The rest of the world doest hear a peep of that subject out of her. If she is so important to you why don't you tell her that she has to run or else? Isn't her decision more critical to you than a few PDSers that you spend so much time with? You act like her decision is irrelevant but these other anonymous folks are the key.

The departed pissant went from being a Duncan Hunter fan to a Bachmann fan.

Presumably, if those on FR who are constantly belittling Palin have a preference for a GOP Presidential candidate, they will be able to say so, along with their reasons for supporting that person.

IF they do not, in contrast to my earlier posting of my reasons for liking Palin, then it makes them look more like they are merely stirring up trouble.

As far as your challenge, relax. Palin herself has said that she would enter the race if nobody else sufficiently conservative to satisfy her standards jumped in.

That might be Bachmann, it might not; it might be Cain, it might not.

I'm willing to give Sarah time -- the sooner she declares in advance of the RINOs, the more time the RINOs and Dems will have to tag-team her.

Cheers!

What?? Sounds like you are saying Cain or Bachmann could be a better candidate than Palin. Isnt that Pissant’s line? Do we need Palin or not? After all your rather aggressive posting efforts for her candidicy the past two years you would let her just walk away for her personal reasons? Something doesnt smell right.

Everything smells just fine...have your nose adjusted.

It will be *Sarah*'s determination whether or not she feels that Bachmann or Cain are conservative enough that she, Sarah Palin, not enter the presidential race officially.

I chose to mention those two since they are the two most recently in-the-news strong conservatives who have been making noises about running.

Nice try, though.

Cheers!

Well it has been about a year since Grey Whiskers went off and called everyone that didn't high step to his commands a troll/PDSer/zombie and few other names. Who're you supporting now /or calling trolls?

This thread wasn't the easiest thread to find, but I remember it distinctly. I made a bet with one of you via Freepmail (land or grey, can't remember) that Palin would not run because she had too much baggage. Either one of you want to admit I was right now. Yeah, didn't think so.
