HERSHEY, Pa. (AP) -- Chocolate is going to cost a little more green.
The Hershey Co. on Wednesday said it raised wholesale prices by 9.7 percent, because its own costs have risen.
The candy maker says the price increase takes effect immediately. It cited higher costs for raw materials, packaging, fuel, utilities and transportation as driving the hike.

10% inflation is just the beginning. This is the price of the bankster bailout. Enjoy your lower standard of living America...

Wonder if Ivory Coast turmoil has anything to do with this

I just invested heavily in pre inflationary chocolate. 70% Cacao bars, vacuum sealed and placed in long term SHTF storage. I wish this thread hadn’t been started. My mouth is watering and those bars are in jeopardy...

To ensure the safety and longevity of your chocolate stash, I urge you to immediately send what remains to me. I am sure that I have much more will power than you. And if not, then you win!

Fortunately, I'm one of those who can take or leave chocolate, so I'll just stop buying it.
Hershey moved part of its operation to Mexico a couple years ago, costing American jobs - to save money. Now they want 10 percent more for their goods.
Bad news Hershey, our gas, transportation, energy and cost of living has gone up too.

Of course the Government Liars will not include gas or food items in the “official inflation rate”. Lying thieves.

I bought a regular size Mounds bar the other day and it cost $1.00. A month ago I could buy them on sale 2/.89 cents.

When I was a kid, Hershey bars were a nickel, gas was 17 cents a gallon and a full size Chevy Impala was about a grand.
Although not a Hershey, I favored the Necco Skybar
and the Mallo Cup
Oh yeah, almost forgot the Bun Candy Bar.
To: dollarbull
If the Reese cups shrink, I will be watching.
To: Zuben Elgenubi
Mallo Cup = most disgusting creation ever devised.
Sorry. Bad experience with that one. Uncle bought one for me and I thought it was a Reese ripoff. I chomped down and UGH.
Bun is good though :)
To: dollarbull
Hershey makes candy...not chocolate.
Real chocolate is food.

I’m a jelly bean sort of guy, but I appreciate on occasion a good chocolate bar. This is bad news!

The point is not that they are raising prices (they must) but WHY are their costs going up? Hint: Banker bailout and massive money printing by the Fed
