but did agree on one point that the super rich do avoid paying the tax rate in numerous, often criminal ways.

If it is criminal, then prosecute them for breaking the law. If it is legal, change the laws. There are plenty of people avoiding paying taxes illegally and legally. Why single out the "super rich?"

You can’t prosecute them, the whole system is bought and paid for and they own it all. For every sacrificial lamb, like a Madoff, there are people much more powerful, who benefited to a much greater degree from their criminal actions and they’ll never see a day in jail. How many people have been prosecuted, let alone found guilty, for the latest meltdown we had?
