Rep. Connie Mack IV (R) may have surprised political observers last week by deciding not to challenge Sen. Bill Nelson (D), but Twitter and Facebook suggest that former state House Majority Leader Adam Hasner (R) wont be surprising anyone. A favorite of local grass-roots conservatives, its likely only a matter of time before Hasner jumps into the race.
Not convinced? Judge for yourself: Its clear to me that this election still needs a proven limited government leader, who is solid across the board on the conservative principles upon which our party was founded, he wrote on his Facebook page after Macks Friday announcement.
I look forward to continuing the conversation I am having with grassroots activists across Florida about the issues critical to our nations future, and the type of strong, uncompromising leadership we need in Washington, as we explore our own challenge to Bill Nelson.
And he flashed a sense of humor Monday in another telling post, this time on Twitter: If we pursue Senate race against Bill Nelson, I can promise you: I will never lock a reporter in a closet ... not even when they deserve it, he said, referencing an incident involving a reporter at a recent Florida event with Vice President Joseph Biden.

I think that Adam Hasner will be a candidate and that he has great potential.
Connie Mack is an open-borders POS and a frat boy. His great grand pappy fixed baseball games with Arnold Rothstein.
I agree. Among those who have indicated that they will probably run, I’m currently supporting Adam Hasner, but at the end of the day I will support the conservative with the best chance of beating Connie Mack in the primary.
I have some good news- Connie Mack has already decided not to run.
“I have some good news- Connie Mack has already decided not to run.”
My preference would be for Mack to run (so that a real conservative gets elected to his very conservative FL-14) but that he gets crushed in the primary, à la Charlie Crist (but hopefully without him switching to an independent right before the primary and running interference in the general).
I just see that the article posted in this very thread started off by saying that Mack had announced that he’s not running for the Senate—serves me right for posting without reading. I guess I read about the speculation about what Mack’s announcement would be but didn’t read the post-announcement articles.
see = saw
I’ll have to find out more about this dude from my FL friends.
