A fundamentally dishonest speech
Washington Post ^ | March 28, 2011 | Marc A. Thiessen

President Obama gave an impassioned, sometimes eloquent, defense of his policies in Libya tonight. But when it came to justifying the limited goals of the military mission, his speech was fundamentally dishonest. Obama presented himself as standing between two extremes — those on the one hand, who want to do nothing in the face of a humanitarian catastrophe, and those on the other who want to invade Libya the way George W. Bush invaded Iraq.

... This is a straw man, and the president knows it. No serious person is arguing that we should “repeat in Libya” what we did in Iraq. No serious person is arguing that we should send hundreds of thousands of ground troops to march on Tripoli and topple Moammar Gaddafi they way we marched on Baghdad and toppled Saddam Hussein. What serious people are suggesting is that we help the Libyan resistance topple Gaddafi’s regime — not by sending American ground forces to do it for them, but by providing them with arms, training, intelligence and air support.

...Another moment of dishonesty came when Obama described the “transfer” of the mission to NATO:

[[You got that right! He already had his senstive ego hurt with all the criticism.]]

I expect we’ll see him begin to whine about hte msm much the way he wailed and blubbered on and on and on about how fox news had some agenda agaqisnt him. Once the mainstream media starts to rightfully hammer on him- once the mainstream media finally figures out that people are sick and tired of their fawnign over someone who doesn’t deserve to be fawned over, obama and the dems won’t be so hell-bent on the ‘fairness doctrine’ after all because they won’t be able to stand the influx of more cosnervatives into the msm when the ‘fairness doctine’ becoems law- the msm is all that the left have left, and even they are startign to get how serious a mistake america made hwen they elected someone so incompetant and unqaulified for the highest office i nthe land- hopefully the msm is beginnign to see that they have been backign someone, and fawening all over someone who has severely dissappointed and hurt the left’s cause

He is not ‘dishonest’ IMO, he is just plain stupid.

Using the wrong descriptors conceals that which is being described. While technically accurate, what hit Japan several days ago was not "some water."

Over and over and over, I consider how to describe obama. The only word that works in all circumstances is "evil."

Carnage ‘beyond imagination’ in Misrata, says witness

By the CNN Wire Staff
March 29, 2011 — Updated 1441 GMT (2241 HKT)

CNN saw rebel fighters streaming back out of the city. One said the barrage was too much for the opposition to withstand, and that Gadhafi loyalists had infiltrated the city.

A man in car that drove by a CNN crew in the area shouted, “Gadhafi will be back.”

The violence came the day after U.S. President Barack Obama delivered an address explaining his decision to commit U.S. forces to the U.N.-authorized military mission in Libya.

Please do not criticize my CIC.

He spent over a month trying to figure out what to say on that speech, in Rio, El Salvador, and every golf course in between. It was damn distracting. He even flubbed several shots. But then, what do you little people know of the pressure at the top?

Also, the bigger decision on his plate wasn't Lybia (note new sp). It was whether or not to attempt to throw out the first pitch at the National's game.

The man is the consummate statesman. Rather than risk the hoots of derision at his lady-like throwing style, he chose to bomb Lybia. Wise move and it's why we pay him the big bucks.

....preventing a massacre in Benghazi.

He "prevented" nothing. The French ended a massacre that was taking place. That was one of several that had taken place. A massacre is still going on in Misurata.

Minimizing the Japan crisis, ignoring and minimizing the large number of murders on Mexican border and allowing a Gun Walker program.

Seems his concerns are only with Muslim countries and people

I pity anyone that had to listen to that tripe. I had better things to do, such as pick dingleberries off the dog’s bottom.

LOL. I would rather have watched you do that than Obammie's speech -- which I didn't watch.

I’m just taking the speech at face value and seeing where it ends up.

If we don’t, then we must dismiss the whole thing as a lie for obvious historical reasons.

Exactly what 53% of our fellow citizens did in 2008 ... and if we don't get a Program, a Plan, a Leader; A CLUE, the stoopid bastids is liable to do it agin in 2012.

obama is a master of deceit.
He tells easily proven lies on a daily basis. But occasionally he throws in a true statement and it gets lost in all the fog of his lies.

A few obama truisms:

Fundamentally change this country.
If the political winds turn ugly, he would stand with islam.
He doesn’t care about his polls.

And to make it more confusing sometimes he throws out a statement that has nothing to do with the conversation at the time. One of them was during some presser and his media was bowing to him with softball questions and swooning. Out of the blue, he made the statement that he was not a bolshevik. What’s up with that? No one accusing him or even asked the question.

What is this supposed “humanitarian catastrophe” of unprecedented scale and viciousness? Why has everyone, at least in official Washington, adopted this fraudulent meme?

It'll become HIS "weapons of mass destruction" petard to be hoisted upon.

Easy!

An American 9.0 and tsunami.

In no way, form, or fashion would I go so far as to the word “American” in describing obama.

In fact, I would not use the words “obama” and American” in the same sentence.

Well, I kinda see what you mean, but earthquakes and tidal waves, while destructive, bear you no malice. They happen to us because we occupy a living planet.

obama's acts are intentional. Those acts cause so much damage, and they are intentional. I can find no word other than evil that consistently fits him, day after day, one act after the other.

Leaving the terrorist Kadafi in power would be a terrible mistake akin to leaving Saddam Hussein in power after Desert Storm. If Imam Obama succeeds in avoiding dethroning the islamofascist tyrant Kadhafi, a Republican President will just have to finish the job later.
