There will be 4o exemptions to this and in the other states it will go black market.
This is an interesting strategy that the state of South Carolina is taking. I wonder if they can go a bit further and “ban” the new CFL light bulbs in the entire state? The new CFL light bulbs have mercury in them and are a waste removal headache. It seems to me that states should have the right to “ban” them for that reason alone.

I am now the proud owner of 6 of the approved lightbulbs, which have expired. One of them “smoked” on the way out, btw. Wonder how much mercury I inhaled.
I have no idea what to do with them.

These new bulbs are pure crap. I told my wife not to buy the d*mn things until completely necessary. Stupid moronic “we know what’s best for you consumer” Bullcrap.
