No question Libya and the world would be better off w/o Ghadaffi ..... will pursue this with non-military means.

Regime change not in the cards with the military. Would splinter coalition, increased costs, would force troops on the ground.....to be blunt....we went down that road with Iraq....

Regime change there(Iraq) took 8 years....we can’t afford that with Libya.

We have intervened to prevent a massacre.

And before that we did it Obama's way and had a no-fly zone for 10 years while Saddam murdered on the ground.

there will be times when our safety will not be threatened, but our interests will be. In such cases we should not be afraid to act, but these burdens shouldn’t be ours alone.

Real leadership creates the conditions so that others step up. We’ve shown this type of leadership in Libya.

When one of the airmen parachuted to the ground....he met friendlies....the young Libyan said we are your friends.

Holy crap...He just told that nutjob in Libya we can't do this for the long haul (in other words "hang in there..").

I was about to marvel over how he gave himself the out with the whole transfer to NATO schtick. But this...Damn....
